  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The Artist

This was an amazing film. Really enjoyed every moment of it and is cinema at its finest. Loved seeing some of RED Studios in the film. Must have been great to see this being filmed there. Hope everyone gets a chance to check it out on the big screen.

Saw this last night.

This was just one of those fantastic films on many levels.

A refreshing break from most current offerings lately.

Actually left the cinema feeling happy.

4X3 Black and white silent film. Still a very powerful way to tell a story.

I saw the Artist right after the GWDT. Not comparing the two films, but with the b/w low tech and all vs. modern 4k whiz bang technology, there was no comparison for me. The Artist, great storytelling, just like movies should be...

Yeah. And it did all this really great subtle reminding of where cinema comes from, what it's about, all the tools for storytelling. Great story and great acting. You really get a sense of how different the performance has to be when there are no words.

When I wake up the next day and want to see the movie again, I know it's one that will stay with me for a very long time. Glad you guys got a chance to go see it.

Did you notice it was shot (at least partly) at RED? Not ON Red unfortunately (not as far as I know anyway. . . ), but at Red Studios. Neat.

Yes, i've walked by some of those spots. :-)

I love RED, but this film works best on 35mm. There are some subtle things that I think just play to film's favor in this case.

You know, I saw it digitally projected at the Arclight here in LA, and I thought it looked fine. Beautiful picture quality, great performances, amazing lighting. Five minutes in, I thought, "there's no way this could be a digital capture," and sure enough, it was all shot on film.

I did laugh out loud when I saw the exterior shot of Red Studios over there on Cahuenga, made up to look like a vintage 1930s studio. They did a terrific job.

Beautiful film. Great actors. Story well told. Nice ideas and BANG!!!

Wonderfull use of picture, sound, time, space...

Just saw this last night, it is now my fav film for 2011, even though I saw it in 2012. Amazing storytelling, and love the use symbolism and metaphors, that sealed the deal for me. Creativity at its finest. Glad to see it shot on Red @ Red.

Just won the DGA Award over the weekend. This is usually (but not always) a strong indication for the Best Picture Oscar.

I loved this film. It was just fantastic. Can't wait to see it again.

I saw it the night before I went back to school, the day after it opened in my hometown... A masterpiece if I've ever seen one! I love that style of filmmaking and it was so engrossing and beautiful... I don't buy to many films on BluRay, but this one I will for sure.
