Mainly pertaining loss of footage. Any DIT on these boards that can recommend a good broker? I"m with heffernan group right now for all my gear, but their liability page is down, and has been for some time. They may not even do it anymore. If something happens to the footage on set my fault or not, I need my ass covered. Any recommendations would be great.

I have a gen liability policy with Allison at Heffernan.
They still offer them as far as I know.

Go to Fractured Atlas.

They are a non profit that pool for an overall lower insurance rate. You have to be a member to get a quote, but
you can cancel the membership within I think two weeks - so if you do not like their quote you get a refund.

I got gear insurance from them for about 30% of what I used to pay before. Same terms of the policy.

They also have a 'footage loss' option in their policy. That one is pretty pricey though. So I turned it down
and made it your problem :-)

Tom,

If talking with Allison Parshall does not work, One Beacon Insurance who is the underwriter of your policy from Heffernan have a "Faulty Stock and Processing Insurance: Provides coverage for the extra expense incurred in re-shooting or re-recoding lost or damaged material when there is a loss resulting from faulty materials, faulty equipment, faulty developing or processing, or faulty editing." and "Negative Film & Videotape Insurance: Covers all risks of physical loss of, damage to, or destruction of the negative film, computer generated images or sound, videotape or soundtrack and provides coverage for the extra expenses (or, in the event of necessary abandonment, aborted costs) incurred in re-shooting or re-recording the lost or damaged material."
