Hello, my Scarlet-X arrived yesterday and was working great the first day. However, I went to turn it on a few hours ago and nothing. I only have an AC power cord to power the camera (my side handle has not shipped yet) so I have no way of knowing if it is the power cord or the camera. I've tried plugging into different outlets and still no go. Anyone have any ideas as to why this would not turn on other than a damaged power cord? I mean, it's a brand new camera... only been used a few hours - haven't even taken it outside yet. I'll try giving RED a call tomorrow. Until then, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does the fan come on but then you get nothing? Do you see the red power LED to know it's getting power?

What else can you tell us?

If the fan appears to come on then you should put the firmware on an SSD and try to force update. This happened to me once on my Epic. The fan came on for a few seconds but couldn't get anything. Force update to the same firmware version fixed it.

Hi Jim, thanks for replying...
The fan does not come on and none of the LED's light up... it is completely dead and I have no clue what to do. The last time I used it earlier today it was working fine. Now nothing.
I tried looking in the manual's troubleshooting section - but it is only one page and does not even mention power issues. So strange this is...

Did you plug the AC adapter directly into the wall or into a surge protector or UPS ?

Is the green light on the AC adaptor on? If not, it could be the IEC cable (the one from the wall socket to the adaptor), or the actual adaptor itself.

EDIT: Ha ha, Andrew beat me to it while I was typing a reply.

Is there a green LED on the adapter which lights up when it's connected to a power outlet?

I just checked and the LED on the adapter is NOT lit when plugged in. That must be the problem - a faulty adapter. Just got the camera yesterday and wasn't even aware that the adapter had an LED - Thanks Andrew, you were a big help! :)

Haha, you'll have to be quicker than that!

No worries, Paul, I'm glad it's nothing worse than a faulty power supply!
