  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Timeframe For 120FPS?

I hope you're right. I'd love to see a higher framerate.. It would make for an awesome upgrade.... :)

I think many would, it's bound to happen as technology moves forward. But at the time being I have a great camera, I don't say this as a fanboy, I'm truly happy with the product and service I have received to this point.

I'm running a series of new tests on R1, Build 31 of 2K footage at RC42. Here's the first one. Unfortunately, my RC Helicopter had a battery explode in it, so it was sidelined for this test. Instead, here's a music box carousel. Any stuttery movement you see is actually the box itself. Not the smoothest movemnt on that thing.
Password is: R12K

I'm confident the Scarlet will be updated. Probably at the end of the year. I know one shouldn't speculate, and shouldn't get higher hopes beyond what's announced, but I believe Red will deliver. By the end of the year,, all Stages for the Epic would be over as well as backorders, the Red One would probably be "end of life" and out of the store (except for probably "battle tested" sales), and the competitors will have shown their hand (at NAB and IBC). By then I believe we might see 60 fps 3K (and 50fps for pal), as well as 96fps and 100fps for 2K. I think this would satisfy most users needs, while keeping Epic users investments in mind. I have no problem at all with this as a future Epic owner, for example. this would further cement the Scarlet as the leader in bellow 20K cameras.

The 120 1k thingy will arrive, as it was an announced spec.
Like the 720 option on the Epic.

Usefullness will be a bit depending on lighting and image type.

SOme will work great

Others: Not so much

Start with enough lights and contrast, you'll probably get far for non greenscreen work

Pardon my ignorance, but what 720 option, Gunleik?
