I'm a experiencing Audio ticking or interference when using the included AC adapter. Does not happen when using RED VOLTS. I can hear it when the audio channel is activated, but nothing is plugged in. Is this common, or do I need a different AC adapter?

I am using a Lectro wireless connected via Hosa XVS-102F

Also, the headphone jack works intermittently after a boot. Sometimes it works when it boots, sometimes it doesn't.

also, no audio playback, but live audio goes through. After this was discovered (the first take) I listed to playback and the audio was clean. However, I was listening to the live audio during playback, not the recorded audio, so I didn't know what was really recorded.

This audio glitch also went over the SDI to a Ki Pro Mini. Basically all the audio from the shoot today is no good.

That's unfortunate. Luckily it doesn't sound much worse than anything I've fixed in Izotope, so you may not be out of luck on the stuff you've already shot. I winder if it's a grounding issue on the AC adapter...?

Reminds me of plugging in an iPod in my VW. Music sounds great when it's connected solely to the AUX minijack, but as soon as you connect a charger to the iPod there's terrible noise. Internal battery=clean audio, external power=noise. Probably a different issue given the AC/DC current thing, but perhaps relevant.

check if your audio set up in the scarlet is on balanced or unbalanced? It must be on Balanced. I had the same problem with my Epic-X 00274 and that solved it!

Epic-X "ED" and Red One 1265 MX "FRed"

Yep Balanced. I tried unbalanced too, and it sounded the same.

Our EPIC is experiencing "ticking" also, even when no mic is plugged in and we use battery power. Something is not right... It does record it, too.

any solution here I am having same issue:

Scarlet 2.0.5. + Balanced Audio + Hosa HVS-101F (1 foot) + Senheiser Shotgun Mic

Used our Scarlet all day today in the studio plugged in to the AC adapter, recorded sound and had no issues… One channel was a safety shotgun (ME66?) and the other was a feed from the sound guy.
I know that really doesn't help, but it does let you know that it's not everyone. Have you sent a log to RED?

Can you tell me what firmware + settings + cables?

Maybe… Whenever a 'soundguy' is on set - I let him do his job and don't interfere too much, and he lets me frame and focus without comment.

But here it goes: Latest Scarlet Beta firmware 2.08, unbalanced, and the cables are the sound guy's own custom builds (I asked him 'cause they had this cool nylon-ish antiscrape mesh cover).

Maybe I have the wrong mic? It is an unidentified Senheiser shotgun. It has a AA battery, a little black switch ("BATT. ON") and then an inlayed switch that is red with a line and an angled line next to it. The LED doesnt seem to illumitate when I push the switch up to BATT ON. I am not sure if this mic is needs phantom power or not...maybe that is the problem?

However when I put the dB above 35-40 I can hear noise/feedback from the fan (which changes pitch as per fan speed), also clicking while recording, which all amount to an unusable signal...

Any advice out there? How to ID an unmarked Senheiser Mic? How to know if thats the problem?

EDIT: I tried multiple batteries....

EDIT 2: When AC power is attached the noise is DEF greater.

EDIT 3: I think I am using the Sennheiser ME66/K6

The ME66/K6 is the 'back-up' shotgun we've been using with the Scarlet because it can self power with the AA battery. On ours the little red light comes on when the battery is powering it - if yours doesn't perhaps you have multiple flat batteries, or there is a problem with the mic?
Have you tried other self powered mics (that don't need phantom power)?
Have you tried line level input from a sound mixer?

Wish I could be more help; sound is something I would love to know more about...
