And, yes, I'm also on the brink of not being able to complete my Scarlet purchase, but I'm pushing ahead.

Ok, so they've shipped well over 500 Scarlets now in 6-7 weeks. That's with Production at it's slowest and we've been told ramping up.
As to SO numbers... it's EVERYTHING RED that's being ordered and a considerable chunk of those accessories SO's are regularly being allocated... Surely possible that they could ship another 2k scarlets by April... I think 4 RED Everything else, to 1 Scarlet sounds like a reasonable ratio? So it wouldn't surprise me if most people ended up being closer rather than farther than they think.

But regardless, I have to say. She's absolutely something else guys. Personally I'm convinced this is the camera that will revolutionise Indie cinema and I'm looking forward to watching many of the wonderful people I'm meeting on here prove it.

To be honest I just cant imagine any of those who will need to be hanging tough until their time comes being anything but ecstatic they did so once they get Scarlet in their hands. Otherwise, if I was camera-less and in a potential bind with time frame and projects, I'd buy an FS100 with some of my Scarlet funds and shoot with that till my SO got close. Then sell her for probably only a small loss. OR honestly I'd cancel my order and buy one of the many incredible RED ONE MX deals around and never look back. The fact you can pick up a shooting MX kit for like 15K if your lucky BLOWS my mind.

Very exciting times. Democratization in film making at last. Scarlet and 5D have made it possible. Good ideas will prevail and everyone will be able to show their talent. Before it was limited to a few.

I wholeheartedly agree Felipe. Some people rail a little at this idea, because content is king and if good enough you can clearly transcend your limitations and punch above your weight. But there is power and creative opportunity to be mined in Scarlet, that previously was just not remotely accessible at this price point. Very exciting indeed.

Cool Lliam. Content is king like you said and Scarlet is the ultimate tool to materialize it. Cheers.

Hang on, didnt I hear that when the DVX100 was first released, then again when 35mm adapters were released, then when the HVX200 was released, then again when... I think you get the picture. Im thinking if someone couldnt tell a great story before, well. No, not saying scarlet price/performance ratio isnt fantastic.

Steps forward are always critical and should be heralded as what they are. And you'll always get people getting ahead of themselves. Genuine digital cinema footage that can hold it's own with film for a theatrical release at this price point? No. It has never been done before. Felipe is correct. Though she's not "ultimate" "YET" imho.
