  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

You all just moved up on the Scarlet X List

Unfortunately I had to cancel my Scarlet X order. We are ramping up production on our cages and accessories for DSLR and RED products and needed to buy another CNC machine asap and that took my Scarlet X budget, well that and my taxes.

Anyhow, my accessories came before the cancellation so rather than try and return them to RED and deal with the headache I am listing them here. I have a brand spanking new 5 Inch Touch LCD and 64 SSD drive available. Total cost was $2557 for the two. Make me a reasonable offer via email at info@cinezenusa.com If interested in both, or separate. Attached is my invoice from RED.com and order numbers. I'm thinking $2450 for both including UPS shipping. Will split if necessary.

Yeah, I think it was a number of things. As a company manufacturing gear and personally doing productions, I need access to the gear I'm buying both for shooting and for testing. It happens to be a great camera, and one we will buy soon, but a good friend has access to an EPIC in NYC and we've partnered to use his for sizing, accessory development etc. For productions I have so much equipment already for non 4K shooting. I wanted mine for production, but I would rather buy the CNC machines and move forward to get our systems going faster and recoup the investment to purchase future RED gear.

I am still debating on keeping my accessories and renting or selling at the moment. Not to discourage anyone, but I read a post the other day that mentioned the DRAGON sensor and my thought was on a production side of things, by the time I get this camera, it would be a 3 year old sensor (which is amazing btw) but if I hold out a bit longer, I will just buy the Dragon when it is released. I'm sure it will be more, but worth the wait for me. I'll be busy in the meantime building gear.

Just a quick note to all. I can send my gear back to RED as it is new for a return. I'm not looking to give something away, but give you guys a great deal on a current backordered product such as the RED Touch Lcd for a little less etc and ship immediately. I know how much of a wait it was for me to receive when it was in stock and am possibly helping by a small discount and more important availability.

I'm not desperate though. After all it is on backorder and the pricing will change in early Jan. Prices for the accessories I have. These are brand new, just received.

Wow, you guys really wanted the Touch LCD. I had a bunch of offers. I think it is sold but I'll keep posted on the status. 64 SSD still available. Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure alot of them will be from the early lot too. Most of the people just ordering know what they're getting themselves into. I don't think they'd lie about more being able to go out now...for whatever reason. Hopefully they start flying through orders, and this is where the ramp begins.

True. But I doubt that there'll be a ramp up in shipments. Hope I'm wrong.

Ramp was supposed to begin Dec 1st, not 21st as we all know.

Agreed...drawback of there slogan...Everything changes haha...I always think about that when we're waiting longer than expected. I just want it to get here before I decide to get a megaspeed camera or something.
 
Other people with Scarlet orders, please don't let Eric be Scarletless on his own, join him and take delight in not having to wait for a camera.

Then I will get mine quicker.

Have you seen those Megaspeed cameras? I'm really quite impressed with them for the cost. I'm tempting myself when its the last thing I should be doing. If not it might be an investment I make in the near future. I've always found it hard to find high frame rate cameras in CO other than the Epic of course.

They're pretty neat for fps but lacking resolution. Don't know if I would drop 16k on that... but with all this waiting around... hmmm.... lol

Hmm... I think I'll take a Weisscam instead. They only cost $119,984 more. :)

I will say this, though. I think high speed imagery is REALLY, REALLY cool!

I agree Prince and Brian. They're supposed to do full 1080 and 720, which for that range is really what the Epic does in terms of 300 fps. I know I know...it's not really a Epic, but it gives you pretty good resolution when you consider the frame rates you'll get. I guess for me, while I love 4K, 1080 is very much alive still with the work I'm doing. Even if it only does 300 fps at 1080 I'd still consider it a steal!
