  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Stage 4 - Reservations are now Open.

Okay, so its now 5.34am on Friday morning here in the UK.

Last night I decided to give the family some time and spend some time with my loverly wife after her rather bad working day. Followed by an early night.

So now I've woke up and found Stage 4 open. How typical :))

In short - Order placed!

It has been a day long remembered, it has been the start of EPIC Stage4 , it will soon see the end of my bank balance.

Thanks you RED for sticking to the schedule and releasing before the end of the year.

Will be arranging with Alan to wire my entire money over today.

So happy. I have a crate of Coppola Wine getting delivered today so that's one way to mark this day.

Have now got a Bottle of rare 2005 Skywalker Merlot sitting on my desk for the day my EPIC arrives. RED wine for RED camera

Sooooo happy right now...

This is true of the brains, no doubt.

But let's not lie to ourselves about the accessories and modules.

Compared to the 89503289503285% profit margins Sony et al have been getting on 1/3" cameras that cost $600 to make, sure, Red's the hero. But they aren't exactly losing money charging $1600 for an LCD with lower resolution than my phone.

Good to hear you have ordered... I dont think I will forget that drive to be honest when we met up with Jarred and some of the others... haha
 
We won't raise prices on the other bits until you get a chance to reserve and lock in your pricing... You will get at least a 2 week head start beforehand.. Even if it means pushing the price increase date for those products out a bit.

After all.. it is not your fault we are late, right? Seems pretty fair to me.
 
Since future upgrades (Dragon) will no doubt be done in order of camera serial number ...

... and, since the cut-off was yesterday, you guys must have a defined list of people committed to Stages 3 and 3.5.

will those serial numbers be reserved and assigned before Stage 4 cameras are issued their numbers?

Seems fair.
