  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Mind Blowing

Interesting. Saw the girl twiddle her hands once too often, but well crafted. Sometimes a story can be told in so little time, and in
other arenas tell very little in a lot longer time.
I hope they continue to bring back music videos like this one that tells a story that supports the music.
It's tiring to watch music videos that are purportedly creative, masked behind slick pre-programmed lighting and
slick skin tight dancing girls.

Nicely done, but treatment-wise pretty much a watered-down rip-off of what Chris Cunningham did for Aphex Twin's Come to Daddy in 1997. ;)

Whoa..you're quick..beat me..but yeah this is uncomfortably derivative. The movie Trash Humpers also kinda ripped it off in some scenes.
Here is a 720P version...

Apex Twin...Come To Daddy

That Aphex Twin video is so powerful. Always sticks in my mind. Greatest form of flattery in the Skrillex promo I suppose.

I watched the Aphex Twin Video. I thought it was very powerful as well. I love video that pushes the mind and challenges the "normality" of thinking. I feel its what keeps this creative industry creative. It reminded me of this video below that I saw a while back advertising the OFFF Festival 2011 in Barcelona.

Following in the footsteps of Prologue Films and The Mill, PostPanic have created this year’s prestigious opening titles 'Year Zero' for OFFF Festival 2011 in Barcelona.

Written by Mischa Rozema and British graphic designer, Si Scott, the opening titles reflect their dark thoughts on a possible future. Directed by Mischa and shot on location in Prague, the film guides the viewer through a grim scenario embedded with the names of artists appearing at this year’s OFFF festival.

"This also is in the category of Mind Blowing..."

I love it...this guy performs his own ramps, jump-cuts and reverses...who needs editors ;-)

Cool videos, hanks for sharing.

ps. Aphex twins is hard listening...

I like the concept of the Skrillex video, but not the execution. The way the pedo guy moves with the bass drops is off somehow.

IMO, there is yet to be a really great dubstep music video. People are still trying to figure it out. It will happen eventually. It's funny because I am sitting at my house right now cutting some of my Very Large Array astro timelapse footage to Skrillex's "San Diego VIP" just for kicks. Dubstep is amazing to cut to.

My girl Agata just cut her director's reel to dupstep. http://www.agataalexander.com/DIRECTOR.html

She cut that together so nicely! Everything seemed to fit perfectly.
I'm loving seeing dubstep hit the world upside the head in a big way too. Not just for the underground anymore :)

The part where the teddy bear busts the pillow... epic

Ha! That commercial is great, Tom. The performance by the girl is fantastic and the editing is great too, but it's the teddies that put it over the top. :)

I love the Skrillex video too. One of my favourite videos of the year for sure.
