So I did the math with everything you will need to shoot with a Scarlet, lenses, hard drive space red rocket, batteries ssd's etc. Why not just spend the extra money and get an epic? In the long run wont most of you will end up spending that amount of cash in the end and you get more features with Epic, did the math gonna go with Epic, Scarlet doesn't seem cost effective for what it does the 8x fixed seemed like a great idea and they can still make a killing in the market with that one if they release it sometime down the road just in my opinion.

Because the 'extra money' is somewhere in the ballpark of 30K.
Not exactly spare change for most people.

Scarlet doesn't seem cost effective for what it does

Compared to everything else on the market it is most definitely 'cost effective.'
Of course, whether or not it's cost effective for each individual person is a different thing all together.

It may or may not be worth the price for certain people - but looking at the marketplace there is nothing that comes close to it's specs right now in its price range.

I assume by that you mean the price of the Scarlet is not spare change.... and you'd be right.
It's not. 15-20K is a significant investment, and not one anyone should take lightly.

But simply because something has a high price tag does not mean it is not cost effective.
It's all relative to what you get for your money.

$1,000 for a BMW would be a steal of deal.
$1,000 for a candy bar would be a ridiculous rip off.

Like I said - it may or may not be worth the price for each individual person.... but when compared to the market at large there is no denying that the price is extremely competitive.

Good grief. Not again.

The topic of Scarlet's price has been a recurring theme in various threads since the announcement on the 3rd.

Oh sorry thank you for the update.
welcome to the forums, see this place was full of emotions and silly billies disappointed about the unreleased 8x fixed Scarlet, it took a while for things to go back to normal.

No harm intended. not very computer savy.

Oh sorry thank you for the update.

no need to apolygise, you didn't know and welcome. You will find lots of helpful information and people here so don't be shy to ask.
Remember, there's lots of material and tips, just give search a chance.

I really wish these forums were only dedicated to news and actual problem solving and not topics like this. It kind of clogs up the knowledge pipeline.
