G'day guys,

Just wondering if any one has purchased or used a Chrosziel 204-01Q studio follow focus unit??

it comes standard with the 19mm bridge adapter and looks like a very well made system, but iv'e heard that Chrosziel gear is generally engineered towards

the ENG market more than Cine orientation? I've also heard that they don't conform to Arri standards, and i worry about compatibility issues off a ET

19mm Hybrid bridge plate, ET arri dovetail, ect

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
cheers
Dean

They are very well made, no issues and definitly works with Cine based set ups.

Check Brook Willards Rod systems post for Arri standards and set ups.

Chrosziel follow focuses are very adjustable and you can buy a very wide range of gears and a range of initial set-ups to enable you to work with what ever cine set up you require. However it is not always easy to find out exactly what piece of gear works well with what, as the list of gear and part numbers supplied by Chrosziel can take a while to look through and work out what they mean. I echo what Dave says about durability and quality.

Cheers Guys, yeah no doubting there built quality is just there Arri standardisation , i'll check out that post

Chrosziel are truly excellent. They make two studio models - one specifically for video lenses (which also works at a pinch with cine lenses) and one only for cine use. If you are going to be using full on cine lenses you want the latter. The former makes the throw on still and other lenses much longer.

Hey Rob,
One of the Chrosziel Reps. directed my attention towards the MB 840 RED, specifically designed to support 19mm rods as standard, swing away bracket, Dual
rotating holder, 142.5mm rear plate which i was told very clearly would support up to 10mm primes in standard academy format, but when i thought about it
my favourite wide cine primes, zeiss master 12mm / ultra 10mm have a front connecting diameter of 156mm? even the RED 17-50mm i think is 144mm
so i get the feeling the housing on this box wont supply coverage??
am i wrong in saying this?

sorry i re-directed the thread away from follow focus to matte boxes :-)

I know this isn't about the Chrosziel FF but has anyone used the new RR microFF "blue"?

Thanks.
