I have a press release concerning Amphibico's decision to manufacture an underwater housing for the Epic & Scarlet X, who would be the contact person to send it too.

if you haven't talked to red about it, i'd chat with them first and they may give you some advice.

you can get advertising on reduser, but you need to be a sponsor.

send it to engadget, nofilmschool, those kinds of places

wouldn't hurt to have a publicist.

Thanks for the heads up, I am sure you have heard of Amphibico, we built the HD Amphibicam back nearly 10 years ago a true legacy for the Sony F900. So rest assure our housing will be a Professional style full aluminum build similar to the Gates, but using our electronics to facilitate the functionality of the system underwater. We are in concept staging right now, so I do not have any rendering at this moment.

if you're not a reduser sponsor, then probably the thing to do is to get it published through engadget or 2-pop or some other forum - and watch the redusers link back to it, here. not much new RED info slips by unnoticed. or, I'm guessing here, but I would bet that becoming a sponsor lets you post all the press releases you like directly....just PM one of the mods, I'm sure they can get that info for you.

Actually you need to PM Jason Ramsey -- he's in charge of advertising and site sponsorship around here. He'll help you out.

...Although, you have kinda inadvertently made your announcement now. ;)

Joe, hope you guys are reasonably pricing the housing, not at ridiculous prices that will surpass the price of the camera…just saying.

Hi Tom,

Great seeing you after so many years back at Amphibico when you were using the VH1000 with the 100 degree Aspheric lens. Now you're playing with the big boys, perhaps if you are not in a super rush, wait for the Amphibico Epic/ Scarlet X, I am certain you will not be disappointed.

Yes indeed Joe, shot my very first doco in the Red Sea with the VX1000 and the Amphibico housing more than 12 years ago, great stuff back then. That piece is still doing its rounds on the film fest circuit.

I also have the original camera/housing/lens/lights displayed proudly in my studio, took a lot of abuse with lots of animals, big and small, performed like a champ. Hope your new stuff is up to that scratch.

You guys have been idle for some years now, that worries me. The Gates product is a standard you'll have to come up to, if you want to compete in any meaningful way. I guess you're up to it, judging by your presence at DEMA.

Will be in Montreal shortly, if you have stuff ready, would love to visit the facility, grab some pics, and give you a shout out right here on this forum.

Best,

Tom
