Ok guys it's time to institute a little maturity here, I have a proposal, when your talking about a certain thread, and someone comes in and posts something like... "SCARLET should have been 6k or 10k" or something like that... Don't even respond, just divert their comment over into the Complaint Dept. Right Here...

http://www.reduser.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?38-COMPLAINT-DEPARTMENT

Your only exacerbating the situation when you continue to clog up the forum with useless rabble, and it is really making it painful to post here.

There are hurt people, yes we get that, they are bitter too, ok, not denying that either. So lets point them in the right direction with their complaints so that the issues can be dealt with accordingly.

Remember don't respond, just redirect.

In our opinion this forum is becoming full of overly sensitive ppl no offense, but you can barley say anything without someone jumping down ur back no offence but we think Mods have better things to do than read complaints about what price should have been what thoughts and thats all they are is thoughts, we all need to relax and create peace with one an other =)

tSo if someone speaks there mind simply buy saying something innocent like maybe this or that should of been.. we should throw them to the complaint dept, really? seems a bit drastic I think Mods have better things to do then read complaints about some one saying what price they thought a cam should of been lol? GOD forbid some has a concern or thought they wish to share with the community IMO =)

I think people should be able to freely discuss their thoughts, however, that's not what I'm seeing happening. Scarlet discussions are turning into little mini-wars... Now that I think about it, I don't know what the solution is here. But, I think people just need to relax a little. :)

what really amazes me is the people know the policy red has with rowdy customers and yet still gripe, cry and moan it up for thread after thread! like even if i was upset with red for some particular reason i would never go about it the way that some people here have! i had a nightmare the other night that they put me on the do not sell list and woke up in a cold sweat!!! i wish i was kidding but seriously it was a terrifying nightmare!

If you are scared so much so that you have nightmares of a company not selling you a camera you have serious issues com on so scared that you wake up; in a cold sweat because you might not own a camera, wow. also what happend to free speech in this country now we have to worry about not being sold merchandise and banned if someone dosent completely agree with something yikes Fascist.

Scarlet babble will pass organically like everything else. The product reality of Scarlet is what it is - buy it or don't. As with most everything else in life, no one really gives a shit why you do or don't things in your little day. Coffee you drink? Don't care. Car you drive? Don't care. Your favorite brand of peanut butter? You get the idea

in reality I have no fear of getting on that list, it was simply mentioned in jest because it was a strange dream, nothing more; and you are completely over analyzing it there Freud. I personally think red is right for not dealing with the annoying customers, I do the same thing. just cuz your selling a product or service doesn't make you their whipping boy and some people are so toxic its better to avoid dealing with their baggage. The excessive whining going on is really dragging the mood down here. That and I think some people can't do math very well, they base their figures on predictions for brains and forget to look at the cost of the modules that come in the package. Its getting really annoying:crazy:

I am getting the sense that some of the post on this particular forum are not so much for gaining knowledge of the yet to be had scarlet, but at attempt at blurring the waiting time. of speeding the clock forward , filling the air with dignified statements regarding where one stands on the Vat issue , price issue , fixed lens issue, the specs issue , the ,cost of media , the alternative SSd cards, choice of lens etc ,,etc.
Please do not misunderstand me I am also guilty of the incessant chatter , some of the threads and posts are extremely helpful, funny ,brilliant, some are not.

This is after all a creative forum, for creatively minded people. I am in the middle of 2 shoot that have been put on hold for one reason or another....
and It suddenly dawned on me, that I have stopped doing anything ..for the last few days my mind has been drawn back to this site over and over again. Obsessively

So I have decided to think about what i am going to shoot with my new camera.. I have put together a small scenario , a devise to help steady my mind , a devise to enable me bring my new camera closer.
So I say for all here , who are waiting, and noticing a strange tone appearing in their posts.....think about what you would like to shoot, forget about the paid gigs for the moment and just about what you would like to see in front of your cameras , think about a story, .after all thats what it is all about right , a story telling instrument ?

Please this is not attacking anybody or anything about this forum which I love....

PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY OF THIS .....................................DOH

Nothing is that simple. We would care, and argue, about similar issues if we were on CoffeeDrinker, CarDriver or PeanutButterConnoisseur. I think criticisms of the Scarlet in a Scarlet forum are completely warranted.

Or push the

NO I WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS EVER RESPOND TO A POST LIKE THIS!!!!

NEVER!

(see)

…never…

[(@ Evan, How’s it going mate?… will catch up soon)…]

BTW is this thread and it’s like the “fallout” of the Jim’s “industry/Canon”.. the “I’m a Canon guy” assessment thread on RECON? I think somebody suggested Jim not be allowed to post such things… which is a RED flag to a bull. Just wondered happened? There were some useful viewpoints, the C300 and RED don’t overlap, hence no useful comparison.. but things seemed to be going a little “pear shaped”…

To OP we did mange to talk a few people off the ledge… and REDUSER can be difficult “place”; over time things may shift a bit given the nature of the work that most people using RED systems will be doing. Time and patience….

Best to everybody.

Eric

Exactly, I don’t know how it is for a lot of you guys working on larger productions? I’m actively involved in R&D but my old man he worked on many successful large productions (award winning and nominated production designer/art director etc.) BUT there were still LONG periods when he was out of work. Great when you have the work an amazing buzz but difficult when you come off that train. Better that people are able to find an outlet for this “down time” i.e. REDUSER. I suffer from really bad migraines, so I’m not able to any useful work when I have one, so it’s funny I tend to post (here) when I am in pretty extreme pain but seems to be a sort of useful distraction, as basically people DO worry about this stuff hence all the “nervous” chatter.

What I liked the most about REDUSER was when people who were working on top notch productions would spend time to share, or would share what they were doing after their particular production phase was finished. Couple of years ago this was much more common…now a days it seems to be much more rare?

REDUSER is unusual as this is also one of RED’s main conduits of useful information. So we have just bought into RED systems and the acid test is going to be how much useful information do we get in a timely manner that helps us bridge and solve the more unusual technical problems we are likely to encounter that are central or core to our business. In other words much more direct action and assessment, but not so much “opinion”. We’ll see what happens.

Cheers,

Eric

You mean to say that another 60 pages of pointless speculations, arguments over opinions, and burning insults won't get us our cameras sooner?

So this would be another needless, sarcastic, post then.

Concrete information (technical information) can be hard to come by…

But in the mean time please don’t lose your sense of humor… especially in respect of the theme of the thread citing “Hostility in the Air”.

It is true that the old adage “religion politics and money” divide all men…

That’s why the British Royal Family ONLY talk about the weather when out in public.

Most people know about the Bugatti Veyron (as being the most expensive sports car in the world @ $2,400,000).

http://www.thesupercars.org/top-cars/most-expensive-cars-in-the-world-top-10-list/

Some people might know about the most expensive coffee in the world called Kopi Luwak that passes where the un-rippened coffee berries have to first pass through the digestive system of an Indonesian Civet cat @ $600/pound.

http://most-expensive.net/coffee-in-world

The one that really takes the biscuit is the most expensive peanut butter in the world at NIST. $375/pound

This is a hilarious article from the NYT, right up there with the pentagon’s $600.00 toilet seat.

http://www.nytimes.com/2003/06/08/w...ou-pay-for-peanut-butter-with-a-pedigree.html

Thankfully Scarlet-X and Epic are not priced in line with a Veyron, Kopi Luwak and NIST peanut butter; for that I am very grateful.

Humor is the best answer to hostility.

(better get going)

Ta.
