Nikon to make a lens with "enhanced bokeh"

[Martin Weiss]

Seems like Nikon has found a way to add artificial blurriness to slow lenses:

Interesting!!!

[Mark Pugh]

It's software, not a lens...

"detects degree of blur of an image of the second region of the image of the photographic image data. The blur enhancement section performs blur enhancement processing on the image of the second region to enlarge the degree of blur of the image after image processing"

[Martin Weiss]

Well, it's a combination of software, hardware and lens.

Didn't they already invent this? http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Camera-Lenses/1935/AF-DC-NIKKOR-135mm-f%2F2D.html
