  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDmote or side handle or...?

Interesting, how come? Seems like the Redmote has the most functionality and quickest access to all functions, no? And you can put it wherever you want to so you can access it immediately.

No. The side handle has the quickest access to most functions. It's hard-wired, and therefore never has connection issues. It also has a set of dedicated buttons that get you to the functions you actually use every day with one click.

I'd take the touch screen and side handle and leave the Redmote out if i had to make a choice.

No. You have to order it. But it looks like the same one that came with the MX upgrade if you are stage 3... They say to NOT use the old R1 as it is only 100w and the new one is 150w.

It also has a different lemo connector.

So the redmote isn't reliable?
EDIT: Another question. (Is the redmote not hardwired while seated on the back?) Answered below.

Nice to see you back Joseph, hope you like Spain.

Got 5 revolts on order for scarlet-X plus additional charger, should be enough to start me off

How long does it take to re-charge a Revolt Joseph.

This is my preference as well.

I have two gripes with the redmote at present:
1. Battery drains fast when not in use.
2. Loses connection with camera too often in wireless mode. When connected to the back of the camera, it works well.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

It looks like a side handle plus at least two batteries is the way to go, and then battery bricks if I want to get more hardcore about it, or a bunch of redvolts if I want to remain tether free. Looks like I've got some price comparisons to do! Also, it looks like the Redmote isn't reliable enough to be considered a side handle replacement, which is also good to know.

Any idea when the quad charger will be for sale?
