Anyone using an HDMI splitter with the signal out of the epic and having it work properly? I plugged in my splitter from smallHD to spit out a wireless signal for a directors monitor and use a smallHD monitor on board to pull focus and it wouldn't take the signal.

Anyone else have another splitter handy to test?

i've never found a great HDMI splitter. Have one from Sewell also the SmallHD one, but both were wonky. I stopped splitting HDMI signals and found other solutions. I hope that they soon can enable HDMI and SDI out simultaneous.

Agreed, having both outputs would be the simplest solution to this problem. HDMI out to wireless and sdi to second onboard.

Anyone who has the smallHD dp4 able to comment on the internal splitter of that unit?

i have the dp4 and the passthrough works well. i use it with the 5D and it is a great product. In fact, the DP4 with EVF is the BEST focusing tool I have used for the 5D thus far. I pass through the HDMI to the Blackmagic HDMI to SDI and send SDI to village.

Just tested it with Beta firmware HDMI out to DP4, looped through to DP6 and it works. See pic. Just to note: even though monitors show menus for some reason you cannot see the dialogue that appear when items are selected so you still need either the Bomb EVF or touchscreen to see what you're changing.

You cannot see secondary menus through HDMI when either EVF or touch LCD is also attached. If none of those is attached, you should see secondary menus through HDMI. That's according to Epic manual. Is that true in practice?

Awesome, thanks for the test on the dp4 - much appreciated. Sealed the deal on that purchase.
