I haven't come across a viewfinder mount for the EPIC that I like and that I'm willing to pay a lot of money for. I know of one great mount that is in the works, but that one is still some time out... So this is what I've come up with for now. Really low cost, simple solution that does the job.

What I like best about this is:
- very light
- uses a RED ARM that everybody has anyway
- low cost
- EVF can be mounted very close to the camera, very flexible
- can be mounted to both 15mm and 19mm rods

I'm thinking about doing a version with the mounting point on top so that the arm doesn't get in the way of the follow focus. You can of course use a longer arm and slide the bracket back and forth as needed.

Just thought I'd share...

I like it.

I suppose its worth reminding folks ... you can mount this to a top rail too and get it completely out of the way on most rigs.

On another note ... has anyone thought of the practicality of mounting a BombEVF directly to an eyepiece lever?

Nice!
Tobias, am I totally jacking this thread by asking your opinion/likes/dislikes of that RAZOR shoulder mount?? why that rather than the RED one?

I really like it. It's VERY lightweight, is relatively low cost and you can go from handheld to tripod in seconds. Plus you have the camera sit high or low, whatever you prefer, behind the camera, under the camera, whatever fits your needs. Definitely a really nice piece of gear!

Interesting. Still - this version was cheaper :) And I think it's more rugged and versatile with both 19 and 15mm support at the same time... But thanks.

Like it.

I use the Manfrotto Nano Clamp to do this, just tighten down on a 19 or 15mm bar where ever you need it and easily removable to reposition elsewhere without removing matteboxes and other rodded accessories.

Andi

I dig the clamps from Manfrotto, I just don't like the idea of squeezing my carbon fiber rods with Manfrotto-Gear - you SO easily over-tighten...

Nice Evin - might try that. Thanks...

What we need is a Bomb U bracket. Something that gives the Bomb mounting points above and below. yes the clutch is good but its won't get in all positions easily and as cheaply as the amazingly sturdy red arms and a 1/4" hole to mount it in.

Yes please! That would be great!
