On my Small HD DP6, the upper 20% or so of the image is breaking up when I pan. I have it connected via HD-SDI. I had it with the old firmware 1.1 and upgraded to the new 2.0 firmware, and the problem persists. Anyone have experience with this problem?

Email Reed, he'll straighten things out for you. Reed at smallhd.com

I've had that issue as well, on two different epics. What I did to resolve the issue was to flip the image in the menus and remount the monitor. I'm not sure why this works but it did for me (on sdi). Give it a try.

Flip the display in menu will solve problem
The small hd is flipped by default, and it doesn't have enough processing power to handle the epic signal.
So if you flip the image you are actually unflipping it.
Unfortunately you also have to flip the menus separately.

How is the signal from the epic any different than the signal from anything else?

Thanks for the responses, that sorted it out.

Can you elaborate further what you actually means by doesnt have enough power processing to handle epic signal?

Yes we had that same prob. Flipping it did work well. We also switched BNC cables and unplugged it all and went back in and it worked.

Hi, my understanding is that the Epic SDI signal is straight 23.98 progressive, not 60i with pulldown (like the Red One) or 23.98 PsF. So if your monitor cannot accept a straight 23.98P signal then you may have display issues.

Thats a quote from SmallHD when I bought my monitor...I did what he said and it works fine.

On the SmallHD site they call the RED's signal "non standard."

"In it's normal configuration the image on the DP6 is Flipped. The DP6 cannot efficiently process the Red's non-standard HDMI signal in this configuration.

For best results, Turn Image Flip OFF, Menu Flip ON and mount the DP6 upside down."
