Hi everyone,
A friend of mine is looking into wide angle lenses for a future Red Scarlet, preferably faster than F2.8
I think that a RPP would be better than a still lens considering the conversion factor.
I found some threads, but I'm still confused.
So my question is: what will for example the Nikon 24 f1.4 look like on super 35 format Red Scarlet?
On one thread someone wrote that super 35 is really closer to Canon aps-h (x 1.3) than aps-c (x 1.6)
So do I multiply with 1.3 or 1.6?
I have a D7000 (x 1.5) , tried a 24 f1.4, it looked like a 36mm, not that wide anymore.
So would it be better to just recommend him a RPP, 18 or 25 T1.8?
Also, I followed one link to the abel cine tech 'field of view calculator' (http://www.abelcine.com/fov/) and an 18mm on Red Epic 16x9 looks less wide then an 18mm on the Canon 5d II
David Mullen mentioned something about this, I can't find it anymore.
So it seems that using a RPP 18mm on a Red Epic/Scarlet is less wide than a Canon 18mm on a 5D? Is this correct
Regards,
Wim
