  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Would the Leica S range be a viable alternative to Certain Primes

No reason why they would not work, but a Smart mount would be the only one I'm interested in... ;)

So the only one I'll get would be form RED.

MF 645 Still Glass will yield a far better image quality and less artifacts then 35mm Still Glass, and for this I would look forward to the day a LEICA-S RED EPIC Electronic Mount was made available.


But I need to also say that this would be most suited on the EPIC 645... ;)
 
Yes of course they would Ray... ;)

Canon "L" series Still Glass is great, but can't sure resolve 1/3 of what the LEICA-S Still Glass can, with incredible detail edge to edge, and little to no visible artifacts.

Even so the "L" series Canon Stil Glass on the Epic S35 or Scarlet S35, will be used only in its center frame and not the edges as it would more son on a FF sensor, the MF Leica glass,
will more so be utilized in a closer proximity to the center of the lens, making it even sharper on the EPIC and Scarlet s35 sensor.

But using MF glass on a s35 sensor, which has a 1.3 cropping effect, will have even a higher cropping effect on the MF glass, making even the widest focal a medium lens,
for this and other reasons I would much prefer such a Mount on the EPIC 645.
