  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What would a 17-year-old like in a SCARLET?

No worries. It is great to see a young shooter who is focused and working hard. I wish you luck.

Well, i think it's relieving to know i'm also such a 17-year-old (18 since a month, argh). My point in the 3rd sentence was the general 'people buying just because they have the money'. My point at this moment is that you cannot know it's going to be the ideal upgrade for you just because it's built by RED and RED 'quality', and with that amount of money on such young age (hey, some people would love to have that money to eat from), i'm just reminding you to be very careful, and just looking for one more time if there aren't better options for you at this moment.
I'm thinking about a RED One myself, i soon can afford it, i think it's über-fantastic and will help my productions and work for clients a lot, but i'm struggling with my own mind telling myself to stick with the DSLR for one more year. Trying to squeeze more out of it. The lack of tools often creates better results, because you're 'upgrading your internal system', which will transfer over to your future tools, i'm just experiencing that myself and want to share that information with you.

My post is just advice, i'm sorry it annoys you.

I appreciate your advice. However I believe you're wrong about one thing. You say, "you cannot know it's going to be the ideal upgrade for you just because it's built by RED and RED 'quality'." I disagree. For those who are serious about producing the best quality footage possible, there's only one choice and that's RED. I think most other people here would tend to agree with me on that.

I understand you're trying to make the point that it may not be the best choice for me. Apparently you fail to understand that I am someone who wants to produce the best quality footage possible.

That said, I will repeat what I stated previously: I appreciate your advice.
