  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

November 3rd logistics...

There is a link posted earlier in this thread to get tickets. They're all gone, but you can put yourself on the waitlist and hope a spot opens up.

Francesco - You can order 1 hour after the announcement, directly on Red's website. Jarred has said this more than once.

No one knows for certain, but I think it's a good guess that they are building Scarlets right now in anticipation of selling thousands of them. But they may sell so many, it could take a couple weeks from the time you order until yours actually ships. Who knows?

This will also probably happen: If they are backordered very quickly because of high demand, you can order a Scarlet with 10% down payment, then in a few weeks (or longer?) when they are caught up, you can pay the other 90% and it will ship to you.

Aww man, I was so excited, I booked a flight before I realized the event was full. :( Oh well. Weekend in LA! Hopefully finally get to stop by the studios, even if not for the event.
 
Victoria, I don't know if Red would do this. But if you've booked a flight and are flying in for the event, I'll give you my spot. (Not that I don't want to go, I DO.) But I live in LA and can probably see a Scarlet at the Red Studio store at a later date.

I guarantee a bunch of people signed up and won't actually show. If you are already going to be in the area, might as well waitlist-it.

I beg your pardon, I beg to differ, I beg . . . oh I can't beg. Its so unbecoming. I would ask, however, if some holding tickets have found that their plans have changed and can't make Thursday's event. Please, call RSH to allow someone else's attendance.

We are looking at space at the studio as well as the RSVP list to do our best to get as many people in as possible. If you are registered and cannot attend please let me know at brian dot henderson at red.com.

I cannot believe I missed registration. I was waiting for the announcement and somehow I missed it. I saw Gibby's post that he had tickets in hand but I thought foolishly that he got airplane tickets and was sure that he was going to get some tickets. Hopefully some people will cancel.

Completely agree with you there Mike (my bold). And that doesn't only apply to camera manufacturers. Those of us in broadcasting see the same thing on the other side of that coin. So many leaders and managers say it, but few actually live it: Innovate or die.

Anyone out there who truly runs their business like this, give me a call, I'd like to work for/with you.
 
Holy crap, you set those precedents Jim! Totally wish I could fly out, alas I am stuck at the studio. Anyone live streaming?

So I've got an enterprise level account at Brightcove.... I wonder if I can live stream via my iPhone while I'm there? I'll do it if its possible and they let me while I'm there. But I could have sworn RED used there redone/epic cams to do video conferencing. So I think they could do it.
