Anyone have a good app that tracks the sun?

Thanks!

Thanks Pete! Sorry about your RED ONE any luck in finding it?

Justin, one of the best features of Sun Seeker is the 3D window that turns your camera on and allows you to view the path of the sun real time wherever you move your camera.

I use Sun Scout most, Sun Seeker is good as well, Helios too. Use a combo.

In critical situations, make sure to have a compass ready too, especially in remote locations with little to no reception. Most of the times, the apps are fine, but there are situations when they are just plain wrong...

I actually just use Sun Seeker Lite and a compass.

Always always carry a compass.

The apps will be wrong. They will give you idealized data.

What you can do though is use that data, together with compass readings and actual solar observations to decide what the ∆ is between the reported data and reality.

Then, take your own elevation data ... also your own ground level terrain observations.

See, in my backyard, Sun Seeker tells me I'll have great light a good chunk of the day ... but because of trees I don't.

I also recommend adding Google Earth to your arsenal for location scouting and planning - if you aren't already using it.

yeah.... this is kinda cool... Sunseeker
