Illumina's stack up...

From left to right... Superspeeds, Illumina's, Cooke S4, Red Pro Primes

I really like the size and build of the Illumina's and on the projector I would say they compare a bit sharper then Cooke S4's with similar roll off on the edges.

Matt I don't have any footage as yet. But I'll post when I do.
I tested the flaring and felt it was smooth and pleasing to my eye, had a soft feel and not as sharp and "digital" as the RPP's. It also didn't display any "orb" like artefacts that you get on the RPP's.

The Illuminas are of new design and are currently manufactured at the LOMO factory in St. Petersburg using Schott glass.
Ekran lenses were made in St. Petersburg as well but by a different division ...or a separate entity from LOMO...
but both the Ekran lenses and the old LOMO were initially made in the the 1980's.

LUMA TECH, of Weston, Florida is the developer of the Illuminas and owns exclusive world wide rights to the Illuminas.
Gregory Mirand, a St. Petersburg trained optical engineer in his own right
is the president and founder of Luma Tech, Inc.

Thank you, Fred -- are the Illuminas gaining ground in the Independent Film/Production House circles?

I am looking at primes and can only afford one set, one time and can't rent in my part of the US. So, I feel like they need to be T1.3.

What's the expected delivery time on the 135MM and 14MM?

Thanks!

I'm in NYC this week shooting a commercial with my Epic-M and Illuminas. Just came off a month shooting with them in Napa, Bordeaux, Tuscany. The more I use these Illuminas, the more I really like them. Including being able to shoot in a wine cave with no additional lighting (T/1.3). If anyone in the NYC wants to check them out while I'm in town drop me a line (paul@embstudios.com)

BTW- no vignetting at 5k FF with the 18mm.
