I ended up with 2 of these, so I'm selling one... they're discontinued, so this is a rare opportunity to get one for your OConnor 1030...

Are you sure about this? According to the web site, the product is listed as available.

When Element Technica was acquired by 3ALITY (= 3ALITY Technica), they broadcast their intention to continue existing product lines.
If that has changed, would definitely like to know. Was there an announcement that I was not aware of?

Alexis,

I stand corrected. I was looking at the ET dovetail I have for my Cine30HD - slightly different design

Tim,

There are minor differences:

The 1030 plate does not have 1/4-20 threaded holes - only 3/8-16's. The 2060 plate has a total of 13 tapped holes, the 1030 only 7.

The 1030 plate may require longer mounting screws because of the safety break on the OConnor 1030 head (those screws cost extra).

The taper on the outside edge of the ET 2060 was modified to fit better with the OConnor head - you can see a larger angle which eliminated the need for additional plates, reducing the stack height.

Interestingly, the 2060 version was priced lower even with the improved features...

Attaching photos from ET on the 1030 and 2060 dovetail plates:

The 1030 version is on the left, 2060 on the right.

So is the ET 2060 dovetail compatible with the 1030HDS? Website certainly doesn't say so but Tim suggested that it may fit.

Jim,
You piqued my curiousity so I did some research.
The OConnor catalog lists different platforms for the 1030 series and the 2060 (replaced by the 2065), 2075, etc..

All of the 1030's use a Mini Euro as the platform interface.

The others use a 120mm Euro Plate, OConnor Plate, OConnor Geared Plate, Arri Dovetail Plate, Arri 24" (60.96 cm) Plate- ARRI dovetail, Panavision dovetail.

Obviously a difference.

Found an ET Compatibility chart - that too shows different products for the 1030 series versus other OConnor heads.

Alexis, Sorry we hijacked your thread into a technical discussion....

Oddly enough I have my calipers out right now measuring my 1030 and drawing up a design for a replacement for the ET part. I thought it would make for an interesting project on my new (to me) CNC mill....

Sorry for the hijack.... I jumped to this from another 1030 thread and did not realize it was a FS thread. Apologies Alexis!

(Also sorry for hijacking)

Brian, That's interesting. I use the full Euro plate on my 1030HDS, not the mini Euro, wonder if this is evidence that it may work... Though it does seem like they would mention it if it did. All too hard.

Alexis - it arrived safely and promptly - thanks for the deal

You're welcome Marc!

Scott - interested to see the fruits of your labor. My only hesitation in selling was the realization that I'd be screwed (by 5/8") if I ever lost the one I have remaining.

I think the Wooden Camera guy was working on something. I've also tried to reach out to ET asking that they produce another batch. Not successful so far but perhaps if more of us express an interest.

I'm here to resurrect this thread.... I'm looking for something identical to the Element Technica Arri/O'Connor 1030 Dovetail, 9".... long since discontinued...

That goes from a mini euro base on the bottom to an arri standard dovetail on the top for use with my restored O'Connor 1030S head.

Any leads?
