Hi
I am working on PC core i 7 8 GB RAM windows7 ultimate. Until I installed RCX prof. I really had no problems. Now when I activate the Red Rocket everything doesn`t work correctly ,also the export fails.
Then I deinstalled RCX 3 prof and tried to use RCX 487, I was not able to drag a clip into the viewer. When I deactivated the Rocket it will work. I am using the Driver for the Rocket: 1.4.10.0 an the firmware: 1.1.14.40
Maybe somebody can help ?

Thanks

Andreas

Andreas,
There is a newer release driver for the red rocket (version 1.4.15): https://www.red.com/support/all/downloads
Not sure if that will solve your problem, but it won't hurt to try. There is also a new release version of RCX 501. Try updating the driver before you try updating RCX versions.
I will try to duplicate this issue.

Thanks Armen, but I used Redcine-X PRO Build 3 Beta 64 bit. I tried to update my Driver ( RED ROCKET Installer 1.4.16 ) and then the Firmware, but my Rocket firmware upgrade said:

Error: SV-Error-Driver-Memoryinit, On card memory init failed.

I did it for several times, and so I went back to older RCX and Rocket Installers but nothing helped.

Andreas

Andreas,
You have the beta driver version installed, not that its a bad thing, but lets first trying installing the release driver (v.1.4.15) and firmware (v1.1.15.4).
At the top of the support downloads page, select the "release" to download the release rocket driver version. You may have the beta option selected.
If you Let me know if that fixes anything.

Now I used the 1.4.15 and the firmware 1.1..15.4 but now the Rocket Icon is not active with RCX PRO 3 also with RCX 487

Andreas

did you do a shutdown and restart after installation of the firmware as well?? forgot to mention, when you perform shutdown after firmware upgrade, remember to pull pc power cord to allow rocket to completely power cycle itself. give that a try and let me know what happens

Hi Armen

I did shut down after installation of the firmware as well as driver installation. But the Rocket icon is not active with RCX PRO 3 and RCX 487.

Andreas

Andreas,
Are you able to see to Rocket in the windows device manager??
Armen

Yes, of course I see the Rocket, drivers are OK, device is ready to use. I want to resume what happened: everything with 487 was OK and worked fine, then I installed RCX PRO with Rocket drivers and firmware and the problems started : no Rocket icon in RCX PRO.
Then I deinstalled RCX PRO, drivers of the rocket, installed Drivers and firmware for RCX 487 and it did not work, no icon. So now I do not really know what to do, maybe its time calling the RED Support team ?

Thanks Andreas

Andreas,
When you upgraded the rocket firmware to v1.1.15.4 did you still getting the "Error: SV-Error-Driver-Memoryinit, On card memory init failed"?

I remember in your previous posts you uninstalled both RCX Pro bets 3 & RCX 487. Would you consider starting from scratch one more time to see if we can correct this issue with the rocket you're having (uninstall RCX Pro beta 3, uninstall RCX 487, & uninstall Rocket driver [you may need to delete the driver file itself from the system [Windows\system32\drivers\redrocket32.sys/redrocket64.sys]).

Do a complete powercycle of your pc (shutdown, pull power plug for hardware powercycle, plug power cord back and turn pc on)
Install RCX 487 (or if you want to install build 501 on the RED support site that option is there also)
Install Red Rocket driver v.1.4.15 & then reboot your pc
Install Red Rocket firmware v1.1.15.4, shutdown pc, powercycle the pc by unplugging powercord wait about 10 to 15 seconds, thn plug powercord back in & turn pc back on
Check device manager to see Red Rocket is seen
Open RCX 487 & try to enable REDRocket (Rocket Setup window)

This should hopefully resolve your issue.

Hi Armen !

I started to do as You suggested. When i wanted to install the RR Driver 1.4.15, the rocket has automatically installed version 1.16. although I deleted the driver from system 32. So I could not finish
Another question: RCX could not be deinstalled with a deinstaller like RC or RCX PRO, how can we do ?

Andreas

Now I was able to deinstall the Rocketdriver 1.4.16 successfully and now I booted to install the firmware 1.1.15.4 Again it says : SV_Error_Driver_Memoryinit, on card memory init failed. Is there a possibility to delete the firmware on the rocket ?

That are the latest news

Andreas,
To uninstall RCX 487 you just need to delete the folder the application was installed to.
To uninstall RCX Pro Beta 3, you will need to run the installation again (REDCINE-X_PRO_Build_3_Beta_64-bit.msi/REDCINE-X_PRO_Build_3_Beta_32-bit.msi) & then choose the REMOVE option.

I'm trying to dig further to find out why you are getting the "SV_Error_Driver_Memoryinit, on card memory init failed" when you update the firmware on your rocket.

Andreas,
I think in regards to the issue with your rocket, you should contact RED support. Other users have experienced this issue: http://173.199.159.58/forum/showthread.php?63241-HELP!!!!!-RED-ROCKET-ISSUES!!!

Wish I could have been more help, but I think RED support team should be able to help you out!!

Hi Armen !
First let me give You many thanks for Your help. The last link and the post of Florian Stadler concerning a sfe restart with Dip Switch 8 was helpful. Everything is working fine but I use at teh moment RCX 487.

Thank YOU!!!

Andreas
