I've set up my sequences and dropped my r3d's in. Everything seems good. I am playing with the colour correction through the source settings window and all I can get is a histogram. Is there a way to pull up a vectorscope in this window instead? FYI for me I am looking at a one stop solution. For those that do their colour correction in PP how do you do it?

Thanks in advance.

me: setup sequence with my Matrox MXO2 LE....video out to seperate monitor at 10bit and do color correction via 1920x1080p easy setup with Matrox Presetets---of course only works if you have Matrox I/O device. Guess you can choose 2 monitor in PPro and monitor 8bit and do color work there as well....

To view your scopes with your video. go into Window and choose reference monitor. That will open up a floating window. then click on the upper right hand corner of the window. it looks like a arrow pointing down with four horizontal line next to it (really small). click that and you can choose whatever type of scope that you want to. Hope that helps!

Also, if you would like to dock it with your source monitor/ effects panels you can click and drag the upper left hand corner...you must click the little dots. but once you click and drag it you should see areas that your cursor is near, turn purple. that is telling you where it is going to dock the window.

I am a big advocate of Premiere....I'm not sure if your working with a rocket or not. if not, I would suggest using a CUDA supported Nvidia card. The performance increase is just remarkable!! I just built a new machine with a GTX 580 and just can't get over the speed of working with r3d's!! Just amazing.

I am pretty new to working with R3D's but most of my color correction work is not done within the R3D source settings. What i usually do is set my Color space to Redcolor2 and Gamma curve to red log in my r3d source settings. Then I apply Color Correct - Three way color correct from the effects panel inside of premiere. You won't be able to view your scopes with the r3d source settings. but you will within Premieres typical workspace.

Remember your still working with the R3D. Use the r3d source settings to get a quick look....and adjust your ISO if necessary. do the rest of your work with a Three way color correct.
