  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

FS: Arri/Zeiss MASTER PRIMES... As new in box...!! + Master Diopters +2 & plus 3.

That sounds like it would be an issue for a European buyer then. Hopefully you will find a US buyer.

Stephen, I did said that they were brought in as personal items, not IMPORTED... This are still American Lenses.

But yes, if they were declared as Imported along with all the rest of my stuff, then you would be correct, as any recently imported goods can not be sold if you import them as a special Unatantum,
as I did for my Truck and other goods, but if you were to import them by paying taxes and duties then you can sale them the same day.

This is why I am selling them no taxes...

why should be an issue if the invoice is made in USA ;-)

If customs in the EU were to take a look, there is a risk that you would have your lenses confiscated if you bought them from Ketch. They take tax evasion quite seriously. Ketch however would not have a problem.

Good luck with the sale Ketch, I know how much you loved the MP's ... but also I feel you and the Leica C's were soul mates from the beginning :)

Not that Ketch needs any introduction or vote of confidence, but he's one of the most honest, most helpful, most trustworthy all around great people .... on a huge forum of remarkable people.

Buy with total confidence =)

Thanks Anthony,

several offers are in place form all over the globe, I guess this are harder to get then I tough, we'll see were they end up, but by the looks of it, they might be back in the US soon.

Leica SC Primes, are no doubt great lenses, even so I still need to get used to the form factor difference, and the fact that are designed in a non traditional way, but we'll se soon in off... ;)

Also thanks for your very kind words buddy... ;)

VAT is not a problem, you get it back when you buy inside your country within 4 weeks.
if you buy from a country inside the european union, you dont even have to pay VAT when you have a VAT number.
customs is different, but shouldnt be a problem too, because the lenses were made inside europe.

They lenses were made in the EU but were exported to the US. They have not been sold in Europe so they would need to be imported then the VAT paid & possibly reclaimed. When an item where VAT has been reclaimed is later resold VAT on the sale price has to be charged. As I said it could be complicated. Ketch does not seem to be VAT registered.

stephen, a VAT registration costs 26 €.
there is no problem here, and its not complicated, man i buy and sell stuff all over the world (film and non film gear) and all the paper work is done through a third party for 100€ per case (Schenker - biggest logistic company in europe)
maximum for a european buyer can be 6,5% for lenses, if you dont do your homework. please dont hijack the thread, if someone has the cash to buy master primes, you can be damn sure he will know how to get his lenses into his country without problems.

last week i bought cooke s4 for 100k without problems, and if ketch needs help, he knows who to ask and the right persons helping him.

you are always so negative man. and please, not another smartass response. please. you are tiring. thanks

I don't want anybody to unknowingly break the law for which the fines are quite high (100%). There is 6.5% duty Plus VAT to be accounted for here.
Assuming those Cooke lenses had been originally sold in the EU then VAT would have been correctly applied to the first sale.
The Problems will only occur if customs investigates.

The buyer potentially commits an offence by 'handling' goods for which the taxes have not been paid or deferred.

I have and continue to travel the World, with lots of US purchased gear, some times in the Hundred of thousands Dollars of value,
never had never will have an issue with Customs any were as this is my gear used to do work any were, of course once sold if the buyer does not do what He must, well then it is up to the buyer,
I have done my part in the US already... ;)

When travelling with Hundreds of thousands of Dollars of equipment you should be using a ATA Carnet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATA_Carnet

It's a problem for the buyer in Europe as the Buyer has to 'import' the goods, when they are already here.......

Michael Zaletel, where are you! - You said I could ask you for anything last month? THEN PLEASE BUY THESE LENSES FOR ME! :)
