  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Adobe Media Encoder

Brad.....
thanks and seems to confirm with my test i've just run now.....Thanks a mil on that...

What i notice with the ERROR for exporting after further testing is the following---this is for possible comment if anyone knows what the error might be....

What i am trying to accomplish is to send a clip out for EXPORT via PPro OR AME.....BUT, using the Matrox I/O Presets.....

First, i setup a timeline for comparisson using RED 1920x1080 @ 29.97 preset
drop clips on timeline, go to file - export - media then when dialogue box comes up choose ANY output type---then EXPORT --- works fine...no problems at all

Matrox Preset and Problem:
i setup the sequence as a Matrox 1920x1080 preset - this so i can view out of Matrox I/O box on my 50" monitor --- then drop R3d's on timeline...all works same as RED presets...fo to File-Export-Media-then go to output settings...again i can output anything BUT Matrox Settings.....i get an error....

***NEW INOFO on Matrox Output: Adobe does not support H264---therefore using the MATROX Preset---once you go to Export-Media--then go to OUTUPUT SETTINGS---Go to the 2nd box down...where the tabs say: Filtes -- Video -- Audio -- FTP
...Chose Video and change the Codec from Matrox H264 to Matrox MPG 2 - I Frame....

FIXED...now you can export out using Matrox Output Presets---why do this at all? What are the benefits of using Matrox on Mac?
* 10bit monitoring
*Encoding out of Matrox Presets gives smaller file sizes and far better picture quality then others i've tried.
