  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Today we discovered a problem with one of our Red One cameras.
On several cards we have - irregularly - frames or longer periods (1 to many seconds) with shimmering blocks and sometimes half green or purple frames.

We use fairly new 16Gb cards, only 6 month old and the problem appears on several cards.
Could this be an issue with the Card-module? or does this go deeper in the camera system.

They are doing a test now with the Red Drive to see if that shows the same issues but if there is anyone out there that is familiar with this problem, please let me know.

Thanks,

Rob van Gelder, Bangkok

File a trouble ticket with RED if you have not. This is most likely a faulty CF module.

More likely a problem with the card reader you're using, but check both paths.
Try recopying the cards with the different reader/cable or using red undead.

Glad you found the problem!

Sorry I jumped to the conclusion of a bad CF module. Since you said it was on one of your RED cameras, I made the assumption that you had already tested cards, readers, cables, etc.. to identify the problem was indeed with the one camera. :)
