Do all of these lenses cover Epic 5K FF. PM's sent to you.

only the 18 mm has a slight vignette. (looks really cool)
on t stop 5,6 or greater you can see the iris.
the rest of the lenses cover fully...
i have a full set, absolut amazing lenses with the epic.
love the look, wouldn't use any other asphericall lens!
nice set by the way, sergio, good luck with it!

here is a shot of the 18 mm and stop 8 at 5k ff,
clear to see the iris is in the frame at 8 but below
5,6 it's only a slight and nice looking shadow...

On Sunday just gone I offered Sergio £7000 for this set of lens, to which he replied it was a good price and that we had a deal. The last few days I asked for some close up photos of lenses. In the meantime he was happy to post more photos of lenses on reduser still trying to get a better price. Just as I was ready to send funds to his account today he informed me that he had a better offer for around £8300 and would i be able to better this offer. At the point I bowed out as i believe once a deal is struck you stick to your word.
When he informed me that he was going back on his word he said that I as a businessman would understand his actions. Call me naive but I really believe that when a deal is struck you stick to that.

So a few words of warning for all you that believe we have a nice little community here and if someone has enough posts on reduser that they can be trusted. Ruthless capitalism still rules here but you all knew that anyway.
I really wish there was a way when selling or buying items on this forum that the system at present wasn't as fluid as it is. Like on ebay when you commit to buy or sell that is it no way of changing your mind.
In the Uk we call it gazumping, don't know what it is called in the US, just plain old shafting or capitalism I guess.

cheers
Colm

Colm,
really? air this online , ok, and ill say this with utter sincerity I was completely under the impression that you understood as i expressed to you and all others interested in the set cooke's that i was actively recieving offers (as stated in my post) now that said, If you were under the understanding that they were yours,i apologize but i will admit that im a bit capitalistic when it comes to selling items at there best value. But as you and many others well know buyers come and go like the blowing wind. If you didnt want me to keep looking for a suitable mate for the lenses then the best way to achieve this is to get at least a deposit to me. But that wasnt the case and as a gentleman I let you know i recieved several other offers that dwarfed yours and gave you first right of refusal, more than that i cant possibly think of doing...a well taken care of 70yr old glass has only the value that one is willing to pay. the fact that its not ebay comes with pros and cons...people have thae right to back out easily on both sides of the fence...I will be happy to continue dialogue about thes lenses but just like the pound/dollar exchange its value is fluctuant till you pull the trigger...

again sorry about any misunderstanding Colm
perhaps we keep all this amonst us in the future

I have bought some lenses from Sergio and I can definitely back Sergio and that he is definitely a trustworthy guy:-)

the reason i air this online is because you backtracked on a deal and the least that can happen is for other members of this forum to know about your behaviour and be wary of it in the future.

So this is straight from an email you sent to me, what did I misunderstand about it.

"hello Colm,
that price sounds like a fair offer, as much as i hate to
rid myself of them. i say we have a deal"
On Sep 24, 2011,

so I was suppose to interpret that as we have a deal unless someone else come along with a better offer before I receive the money from you. I need to go to business school to understand this new form of communication.

If you agree to a deal in writing (or even orally for that matter, just hard to prove) it is legally binding.
This is a purchase contract - even without all the legal lingo attached to it.

I actually had business partners of mine suing people in South Africa over similar scenarios and they won.
