Jarred mentioned an SSD to CF card adapter in passing. RED, is this still on the "to-do" list? I have a RED 16gb CF card, and would love to use it with Scarlet. Any and all information you can give us would be much appreciated and well received :-)

I want this, so I can put my MiniSD card into an SD adapter, then put the SD into an SD-CF Adapter, to then put the CF into a CF-REDMAG Adapter... And then not be able to shoot on it.

But hey, Adapter-CEPTION

I can't wait to see the "Today's rig" pic of that setup... Haha!

You have A 16GB CF card?

Er... Call me silly, but if you have just one, why not sell it and plan on getting an SSD or two?

OK, anyway, enough picking on poor Kyle. I'm curious to see what comes out of the Scarlet announcement. An SSD to CF adapter would be totally pointless and worthless for EPIC. It may still serve a purpose for Scarlet. I have a handful of 16GB RED CF's myself. And they're collecting dust since moving to SSDs... If they still work alright for Scarlet, I'll probably take an adapter, if the price is reasonable.

I don't think those 16GB cards are as worthless as they may seem. Not everyone will be shooting 5K 5:1 at all times. Having the option isn't that bad. Jeff, I'll take those 16GB cards off your hands so they don't collect dust anymore. :-)

I'll see how they translate to Scarlet before I just let them go.... I did say that I'd take an adapter if it's reasonably priced and the cards make sense for the "new" Scarlet as it will exist on November 3rd. They still may be viable for shooting 3K. But considering their record times at 4K and 5K and other limitations, they're dead to me for EPIC and for 4K on the RED One, now that I have gone to SSD's. Still have some use on the RED One, but we don't have an adapter yet, who knows if or when we will. Even at 5K 10:1 24fps on EPIC, you're only going to get a bit over 4 minutes on a 16GB card. 16GB cards are higher cost per GB than RED SSDs... I guess I'm just not feeling the love. Don't think RED is either as they have not brought forth a solution for EPIC. But yeah, an adapter, especially for Scarlet or to slip one in a RED One with SSD module here and there, I'll buy an adapter.

I'm on a very tight budget for Scarlet, I simply can't justify the expense of a RedMags at this point in time. Eventually, it's a definite. In the meantime, I want to use the CF card while I piddle between projects. Also, throughput on Epic is nearly 2.5 times that of Scarlet for a given Redcode ratio. I should be able to get close to 10 minutes on a CF card at 6:1, even more if the compression is higher. I think CF is still very viable for Scarlet. I hope the adapter is still in the works and decently priced. If it were still an option, I would just get the side CF module and be highly content. But it looks like that is no longer in the plan...
