  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just got my email - what accessories does everyone recommend?

Some kind of lower plate to get to standard height, either from Red, Action Products, View Factor, Element Technica, Wooden Camera, those are all the ones I know of, there may be more. I'm going with Action products, I know their products are quality and I really like their concept with the audio adpator where the audio cables run through the lower adaptor plate and then you have two XLF adaptors at the back of the camera. I'm also getting their 15mm audio adaptor, which both hides the mini-jacks on the front and allows to mount 15mm rods.

Some kind of handle, I like the leather one from Wooden camera, and the EVF mount is really great, if I didn't already have one I would definitly go with theirs, simple, elegant and reasonably priced.

The View Factor top plate is nice too...

And not to forget the 2B to 1B cable.

Cheers,
Damien

Great recommendations by Greg, but remember that the ViewFactor top plate is currently only for the Epic M, not the Epic X. They're working on a solution for the X at present.

I wasn't sure about this until I watched the video and then when it came it is a really slick and compact improvement to the old style. Plus you do not need one of those riser plates with this.

The second part IS the riser

This is a great solution too, especially if you want to use the Clutch or another HH rig. Very easy to go from Studio to HH config. We use this on our Epic M's
