I am disappointed, and actually amazed that a company like Red seems to have no system in place to offer replacement parts for their equipment. I'm talking the little stuff. Screws, plastic knobs, etc. My latest call while met with cordial professionalism still left me with the choice of: tough luck, or buy a new one. The part I was looking for? The little molded plastic piece for the battery release on a Red Charger. Buy a new charger? It's a 2-cent piece of plastic, that I would have gladly payed $3 for! I've probably spent thousands over the years with Arri on just this kind of stuff. THEY make a product, they burst view every screw, spring or plastic doodad and make it available for sale----because things break! Please Red, hire someone to facilitate replacement parts sales. I like to keep all my gear looking as new as possible, and when things break, and there's no option to buy a replacement part, ---no matter how insignificant----it makes my gear look bad, but it also makes Red look bad.

I'm not quite as upset about this as you, but I definitely would like to see this happen. It bothers me that so many businesses have almost completely moved away from selling replacement parts. I understand why a lot of companies have done it, but it doesn't make me happy :p

I've broken so many of those little plastic parts on the battery releases it's crazy. A brand new battery plate. Broke in 20 minutes. Both sides of a charger, broke. Those little guys are really fragile.

Yes Red definitely needs to play catch up in getting their answer to the Alexa (EPIC-X) out in NUMBERS ASAP, and they need to start having Arri-style customer support when it comes to backing up the stuff they sell.
