  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Will not shoot anything until I have A Scarlet

Thank goodness, I think I remember recommending something like that when I was thinking of doing my camera several years ago. Came up with some pretty nifty things, could easily and cheaply make a completely water proof camera with the design.

I like filming cyclones, a good way to go through cameras. If I had a good one and some suitable shelter when it gets rough, it would be good.

Not that I want to offer up my EPIC for a demonstration, but I'm told you could pour water into the top vent and have it run out the bottom intake vent without effecting any of the internal electronics.

But like with any camera, I keep a bag or something with me to cover up if/when one of those downpours shows up...

Yep, some of the stuff needs more than a bag and the time it takes to get it out, why I wanted at least 3m water proof design like my $69 camera. You can have rubber port covers or sealable port door, and buttons the water runs out of on the fixed without having to resort to a diving case, little worries. Would love a skin fitting water proof ruggerdised case though, as standard in the package. It gets scratched damaged, no worries, eventually order a new one. Great guerilla everything, not like the prima Dona cinema crowd ;) with their bags support crew plates of caviar for those cameras ;) .

My biggest concern is components with Salt Water. I've shot plenty of cameras in snow without a cover and done fine. Shot 2 near saltwater with a cover and one died. Salt water is tricky. This is where I'll probably pick up a bomb EVF and RedMote.

Sand is also a big problem for consumer items. If it is truly sealed then it won't be such s problem. If they used the processing technology I recommended they would mot even need an cooling airvent and would cost a fraction of the cost of fpga.
