I have spent many hours ogling the lens offerings from many different Companies and I am continually amazed by the range and flexibility of what is available. I was thinking the other night about what if you had the choice of only one lens? Lets say you needed to make a full blown action movie, what Lens if you could only select one would you choose? what about a documentary or a product TV commercial...

If you could only pick one, which one would it be and why ? I would be fascinated to hear your opinion.

Good one. Thanks

Russian 25-80 zoom. Covers all the basic focal lengths, and you can still shoot hand held, and steadicam.

+1 on the Angenieux Optimo 24-290mm, but I wouldn't want to handhold or Steadicam with it!
