  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RCX-Pro Build 2.

Done and using. Thanks Jim and all. It has my ticker racing for the same reasons the Epic "Barn interior" did.

Downloading now...thanks to the Red team (especially Deanan!) for addressing the needs and demands of us out in the field!

The RCX Pro dev team deserves the credit for their hard and talented work.

Do you need a red rocket card because I do not have one, and the download has a failure notice,
I have a page were I can agree with RED terms, and when I do, there is a failure

???

thanks

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere but is the RedCine Pro X supported in Mac OS Lion?

Thank you Red Team for providing this software. I am coming to the party late and plan on purchasing a Red camera in the spring of 2012. I am able to learn the software in the meantime. Thank you very much!

If only RED would design a full blown NLE, perhaps with help/partnership with The Foundry team, it could revolutionise the business. Unlike any other company I can think of, you listen, you respect, you care, you react quickly and you deliver....

Food for thought? You have the basics already in Redcine-X Pro :o)

Best wishes

Scott

Just been playing around with the software and I have a few questions for the Red team.

Although we shoot 4K, 100% of what we deliver is full HD 1080p - one of the things I really like about shooting 4K is the ability to re-frame shots in post.

With the timeline you now have, is there a way set 1080p for the project timeline and then have a quick and simple method of re-framing each shot in that timeline prior to export out? I'm thinking along the line of how FCP handles footage i.e. drop a HD clip on a SD timeline and it scales the video to fit BUT you have the ability to pan and scan or re-frame the clip back up to 100% without quality loss.

I know you have tools to re-frame in RedCine already but I don't find then very intuitive and quick to use...imagine selecting a clip and then having something like a slider perhaps that you could use quickly to re-size direct on the timeline .

Just my initial thoughts and maybe this already exists and I'm missing something?

Keep up the excellent work.

Best wishes

Scott

Thanks for the response re: Lion
Cheers.

It would be cool if there was an option for automatic updates to check for beta releases going forward.

So in the updates section of the prefs:

checkbox - Automatically check for updates
checkbox - Also include beta releases in update checks.
Check for updates - Dropdown menu

I know it's obviously checking for beta releases now, but in the future once there is a stable release out in the wild. It would be nice to exclude AND include both stable and beta to fit into a studios pipeline.

No you don't need a Red Rocket card to use it. Probably worth just trying again - maybe the server was busy.

Once we have a release build, that one will get updates on a separate track.
You'll have both Beta and Release apps that update independently.

Jean, if you could you go to Help / Save Report... and send the file that generates to redcinex at red dot com I'll see about fixing that problem. Thanks.

Where is the best place to post feedback/bugs for REDCine X Pro?

A couple items:

I discovered CMX 3600 EDL Import is pretty fubared. To get around it, I'm importing via RCX, saving project, then opening in RCX Pro. That gets me by.

While I appreciate the notion of the dark-gray text on charcoal-gray background to avoid interfering with reading the picture, it is almost impossible to read on my 19" CRT monitors cranked to damned high rez. I'd like it just a little bit lighter to facilitate reading. Is it possible to customize the text color?

Thanks,

M
