A couple months ago I filmed a Lenovo commercial for theaters. Being a film purist, I shot 35mm, but we needed to shoot a higher frame rate to make the laptop "float" through the air, so production rented an EPIC. After landing, we viewed the footage on a big screen. My jaw dropped, and I was baptized on the spot.

Here's the Lenovo ad and making of: http://rapidboot.com/us/#/home

Here's the malfunction we staged last week (first two jumps with my EPIC!): http://www.skydive.tv/business.html

Glad to be a part of this group!

Cool video! I like the Epic strapped to his helmet... didn't expect to see that :)

Very nice! Noticed some vignetting in the corners, what lens were you using?

It was INTENTIONAL. just kidding - 16mm Arri lens with PL mount adapter. The ND filter is what got me - I didn't notice the vignetting when I put it on....

Did you shoot with HDRx on? The first frame shows two different frames on the guys head...

I'll have to take a closer look - The HDRx wasn't on....

So just looked at the first frame. I think its just the way the shadow played across his head that made it look like another frame, or perhaps it was something I did on my way to H264

Its really the perfect tool for my work and I'm so stoked to have it!! The helmet mount is pretty basic and I'm working to customize it, but already, the system is turn key and wonderful in the air. Learning as I go.

Love it! Looked like a blast to work on!

Hey Joe! It's Dave from the Adult Swim shoot. I talked to Sam a few weeks ago about Epic. did you end up getting one? I have an X coming soon. If you ever need help just let me know and I'm there! Great seeing you here on the board! Welcome!

Dave!! Thanks, glad to be here brother! Yes, I got EPIC M #769 :-) and am super thrilled. Adult Swim was wild - I think I made 11 DC-3 jumps from 2000' in three hours. You saved my butt on the plane to plane filming. Headed back to the drop zone this week if you want to come out and fly around.

Ah this is cool! Jim needs to see this!
