  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I know you guys are rolling out Epic but was hoping you could drop a quick reply with regards to your September release feelings for Scarlet.

I know everything changes, especially delivery dates, I know Red is focusing on Epic, I know everyone is working tirelessly. I applaud this fact every day and love Red. Just hope you can drop a quick reply.
 
The next time we announce anything about Scarlet... it will be ready to ship. We will not post anything about "what we think might happen".

I kind of feel like I'm living in season 3 of LOST :-) but fair enough, when she's available for purchase, she's available for purchase. How about footage?, ahha! sorry, I gotta try right? Can we see some more footage? Don't hate me ;-)
 
09.10.11 or 13.12.11 would also be cool. But I guess when it's ready, they wont give a damn what the date is.

There's plenty of bits needed for the Scarlet available now anyway. I probably won't have caught up with all of those before Scarlet is released

I think that's a great definitive statement. No need to ask about the release date any more. Scarlet will be ready when you see it in the store.

DEC 9 would be nice as that is my birthday, however it would even better if it showed up at my door on/before that date. :)

As for the update, I tend to agree with the approach of announcing what people can buy. When they had no product to sell and needed the hype to get people to "buy-in" clearly they need to let everyone know what they were putting down a deposit for, however now a days "you want a red?" there are two great options (soon three /four?) for you to choose from.

I think at this point we should go out and shoot movies and let RED do what RED does best; knowing that they will produce a great product, even if it takes them a few more days to get it done right. I know that is what I will be doing, and checking RedUser religiously for the announcement :P
 
Jim did say at one point there will be alot of announcements coming in December, whether that changed with the philosophy change I'm not sure. But we can all be hopeful. I like the approach for getting rid of the teasing that you kind of feel at times, but kind of a downer at the same time.
 
Sometime next year. I imagine a great deal has been learnt mass producing Epic X. Conceptually Scarlet will also be different.

Clearly you haven't been hanging out at the forum since 2008. If you did, and had been waiting for a camera 'just about to be released' for the following 3 years, I think you would feel differently.

Yup! I've been on ScarletUser for 3 years, just recently came over here as there seemed to be more info and life as we "got closer". Maybe the same goes for Eric? If not it is harder to feel as we do.
