  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDVOLT + REDVOLT travel charger

I've decided to purchase about 12 RED volts per camera and never go big and bulky again. (unless I have a shot that will run for an hour)

With a 7 sec camera boot time... I think I can live with the down time :)

You could also keep a RED Brick or 2 handy just for suicide swaps and never power down period :)

Any Epic-M owner who received confirmation for their Redvolts since last friday?
I didn't receive news from my Bomb Squad rep and I try to be patient... but I can't wait to put a batterie in my side handle!

I talked to my bomb squad rep and he said mine wasn't up yet. He said they estimate 2 weeks for the backorders to be fulfilled. Again, everything changes here so... we'll see. I cannot wait to get my batteries and Bomb EVF. I wonder what's going to happen once they start ramping up Epic X production... I really hope they start ramping up accessory production too.

No further news here...

Right Andrew, my Epic is the #620 so it's not based on the serial...

I think you will chew up about 12 RED VOLTS per day shooting at a steady pace... thats if you don't have a charger on hand.
In 5 minutes of recording and monitoring you chew up 10%.. so doing the math, you'll get about 20 to 35 minutes out of those small RED VOLTS.

The benefits are... Camera stays small, and you don't have to strap a V lock on the back of it or from your belt. You just walk the streets like a wild man and shoot.
We have just been given 5d (size) versatility. but! with 120 fps 5k nd 2k 300 fps RAW horsepower to burn.

Camera fires up in 8 seconds, so battery replacement time is quick.
You can fly with them in your bag... but how many can you take on the plane is the big question.. anyone?

Being a power scab is going to make these work even better.. If your not shooting anything turn the camera off. conserve...

These redvolts have completely transformed the EPIC into the best all rounder ever made.... and I'm not talking about the data capture specs either... I'm talking about freedom.

Just one last thing needs to be addressed for me and I'll be set forever. (well until Dragon comes out) :))))))

Can this thing get any better....

A whole post without the P word. Kinda. Just kidding, I can't bear waiting either. I'll have 8 Redvolts - think I should have more then? My shoots are often split between roving handheld and tethered to mains on the sticks... shame they're backordered again now.

My redvolts and charger just arrived. Took delivery in May. 16 batteries sounds about right. Bring on the quad chargers! I'm a firm believer in having as many charging positions as batteries. I spent too many years as a AC waking up multiple times in the night to switch batteries.
