Upgraded firmware to 1.6.24 from 1.6.12. Removed both the side-handle and the remote and put the camera on AC power. Camera went through quick procedure and then shutdown. 15 seconds or so. Camera will not power up. I get a yellow light momentary then it goes back to red. Tried both battery and AC. Perhaps it did not complete the upgrading process? Any ideas?

Copy that. Ticket submitted.

Must you remove the side handle before upgrading?

He was probably just trying to eliminate anything that might be causing the power problem he was having.

Removing the handle (and the REDmote) is stated in the firmware upgrade instructions. I don't know if you have to, but if its stated in the instructions I'm doing it. In this case it did not seem to upgrade properly anyway, so it is off to RED to be examined. Although this is disappointing, I greatly appreciate the folks at RED who dove into this problem and helped expedite another solution to get me shooting tomorrow.
