I'm figuring out what batteries (and thus plates and chargers) to get for Epic for longer power situations. With REDvolt XL being a mystery right now, at the moment the options seem to be Red bricks or AB Dionic-HC. I've seen the v-lock batteries get knocked loose in some handheld situations, inconveniently powering the camera down which may not be good for the camera or media, so that is a concern of mine. I like how the AB batteries actually lock more securely. Is there any other pros and cons of Red bricks vs. AB with Epic, or reasons why I should choose one over the other? I've heard conflicting statements about AB batteries not showing remaining battery life in the camera EVF and/or LCD.

It doesn't really matter now as even with the Red Bricks all you get is a voltage display. I think the EPIC will shut down at about 12 volts or so.

We are told IDX Elite work well as there are no rule for with Flying them. Its a larger battery but should be good with Epic electrically but as it is a large battery may be unsuited to Epics small size. Do I recall there was a warrenty issue with on Red batteries with Red one ?

Warranty is important. I don't want to lose a 2 year warranty because we're using AB batteries. Anyone know for sure? Someone from Red maybe can chime in? I'd actually prefer the REDvolt XL, but there's no word on if the Pro Battery Module will have d-tap or p-tap connections on it, which will be a necessity for me (and I imagine many others), so I have to look at other options now.

I've said this before, but I'll say it one more time. I Have owned many many AB batteries. I have used every battery system available. The best batteries ever, regardless of price, are these and they are cheap -

The VSNO9x number is the important thing. vsno90 is 4.5 amp hour, vsno91 is 6.7 AH, the VSNO92 is 8. something. I own some where around 14 or 16 of these. in several years of hard use, I have had one fail. Maybe 2 had the led indicators stop working (if you send them back they will be replaced-they have a warranty). Google the model number. they also come in V-lock. You can get them from dozens of places.
