I had a chance to beta test these on a short film and I loved being able to dim the lights, roll between tungsten or daylight, and all of that on batteries for 4 hours. We could move lights with no cables.

I tell you, this is the way to go. And they are made by an cinematographer/gaffer too!

Looks good. Any idea on pricing?

I'm not affiliated with the company, so I have no idea on exact pricing. I just know they are substantially cheaper than Litepanels® ™ © comparable units (as that's what he said).

These are examples of lights that will be banned from importation if Litepanels wins its 337 case.

Too bad they are made in the U.S.A. so that may not be an issue.

Do they have -green build in ?

I haven't the slightest idea. I just worked on the videos and as I said, I am not affiliated with the company.

SPAM!
This was the exact same post that was in Videomaker see below... are you sure youre not affiliated? seems fishy

I have worked with Greg Sabo, the inventor, for several years, but I am not affiliated with or employed by Zabolights (or any of Greg's companies, Sabostudios, Backyard HD, etc.).

I am genuinely excited by these lights because in 11 years, I never met a DP or gaffer who made his own lights. He DP'd and lit a short film for me for free, using exclusively his new LED lights, so my payback is to spread the word, which he never asked me for but I voluntarily and happily did. I am not a shill for anyone unless I believe in the product thoroughly. I put these lights through the rigors and fell in love with the speed at which we could change setups and move around.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I posted the same thing in well over 20 forums for filmmakers about these lights.

So that fishy smell must be something else. What did you eat for lunch today?

FYI - to see ZABOLIGHTS, watch THE GOLF CHANNEL special 1-hour #Feherty Tuesday at 9PM ET with Open Champion Darren Clarke.

I posted in forums where I am an active member in the communities for film and video. I am sorry that you do not find it genuine, but you are entitled to your opinion.

Im sure Litepanels are the innovaters of LED lighting for video and still photography with the ability to dim and change color temp. Oh and also created by gaffers.

I didn't remember anyone saying Litepanels weren't the innovators of LED lighting. These ZABOLIGHT lights are a very high quality LED and I believe the pricing will be substantially cheaper, but I won't know until I see a price list.

With all sincere respect for Litepanels, LED lighting is not their invention. And I have to say that the idea that they can claim exclusivity (patentability) in using it for photography is absurd, whether it is legal or not. Imagine if someone had a patent on the idea of a ceiling light fixture. How ridiculous is that?

LEDs have been available with the ability to dim and change color for years, with early usage in signage and architectural applications. Companies like Osram Sylvania and Phillips make the technology (just as they make fluorescent lighting). But there are real differences in the quality and color rendition of various LED packages. That quality is what these Litepanels and Zabolights and the others ought to be competing on. Who got there first with the packaging of readily purchasable technology is just not important. Who does it better is what ought to matter to us.

DISCLAIMER: I have no connection with any of the LED lighting companies, and no idea whose product is better.

Well, in the end it is my strong believe that this zabolights are just rebranded socanland LED fixtures.
I have two of them and nowadays the pop up everywhere under different names. Here in Switzerland they are called SAGLED.
You can find them here: www.socanland.com

Made in America? I don't think so.

They look interesting but Im sure you may well be right about the rebranding. I posted else where that the Dedo Tecpro Fellini Click appears to be identical to the Z96 LED light. Theres a dramatic pice difference but the unit is so far as I can see the same. The device isnt built to last for ever but at the price it sells for it has its uses and is good value for the money.
