Is there any way to extend the cable from the Red-One battery mount, without having to buy the Red Battery Belt Clip?

I have been spending a lot of time researching a way to find a male-to-male LEMO connector so that I can connect the power cable to the battery cable, and I've been wasting my time. The only company I have found that can make the connector is in Switzerland, and they just do not answer their emails.

So, I am trying to find another solution, and was hoping someone had already done this. If so, please let me know what your solution was.

Otherwise, I will just bite the bullet, and purchase the Red Battery Clip with it's 6' cable.

Thanks.

Joey,
did not know you guys were making cables now.....i know a lot of folks were looking to exend their battery cables....so they didn't have to buy a clip on battery belt and cable from RED...i just bought one last week because i could not find any cable....but how much (i could not find on your site) for 4' or 6' cable? Looks uncompetitive with RED pricing for 6' cable & battery plate all for $290.....unless i was looking at a different cable on the ET site. ?

Hi George,

LEMO stuff is always pretty expensive, simply because LEMO connectors are pretty expensive!

Though it's relatively straight forward, you could potentially damaging your camera with a homemade or 3rd party cable not wired correctly for the use. I have the belt pack and it really comes in handy. I recommend spending the $290.

100% agree. We have received many cables over the years that was met with smokey/firey goodness. :(

We make the pinouts freely available just so we can eliminate a lot of the errors:

Thanks Joey, and BTW I love your RedUser logo. A Praying Mantis with 3D glasses? Excellent idea. Love it.

After checking out your cables, if I've got the correct one, it's a little pricey. It's more expensive than the Red Battery Plate Clip I was talking about.

Element Technica makes great stuff, but I'm also beginning to think that Jim Hare is correct. Why take chances with the Red Camera using 3rd party equipment, especially when it comes to electronics. It's not worth the risk just to save a few bucks.

Thanks for everyone's input. I greatly appreciate it.
