  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BEST DSLR VIDEO IVE SEEN YET!!!!!

That's my buddy Doug! He's a fantastic effects guy in Sydney and all around genius type.

He's picking on poor Vincent... but Bloom is just as much to blame :)

Fortunately, the above-noted mentality keeps the tech world going 'round. Where would we be without 100's of thousands of (male) consumers with their delusions of grandeur!?

No where! Thank god for the talent-less masses subsidizing all of my hobbies. I can only imagine how much a good pair of back country skis would be if every dentist didn't feel the need to buy them too. ;)

Scarlet solves these problems because it shoots RAW right?

Scarlet will solve these problems because it will have proper controls, proper monitoring as well as RAW recording, though like DSLR, it's no substitute for experience, talent and good ideas. These are the biggest obstacles to a great result regardless of format.

And Doug wasn't picking on Vincent, quite the contrary. In fact it was Vincent himself who retweeted about the existience of this video that caused it's resugence. It was originally done over 8 months ago.

Hahah "proper" controls!!! ...and "proper" monitoring!!! As if framing a shot through a SDI connection will somehow lead to be better composed image... hahaha.

This is too much! What a Riot!

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to be a Scarlet owner... but seriously, DSLRs have enough control to get you a professional and cinematic image. If you can't, then that's you fault for not having any talent or an eye for visuals. Scarlet, or any other camera, is not going to change that. I just want a RAW image cause I'm a color-junkie and I love crazy stylized grading. Plus, I want the high-frame rates. I'm not interested in Red because they're "proper" cameras.

"Proper" ...what an asinine and pompous word.

how about primary, their primary use will be for motion work, where as DSLR's primary use is for stills. both can be used to do either but both are designed for one more so than the other.

Once again we are on a highly advanced digital camera acquisition site, to act like that does not matter to you makes no sense. Yes DSLR's can produce a decent image and the quality of image depends on your skills, and that the most important aspect of visual media is how it's told and what you are telling rather than what it is shot on. But we are here assuming you know all of that, we are here to talk about high end camera's not to argue weather people deserve them or not, that's not for us to say.

Mah just seems like a pointless thing to discuss here, if you really feel that way or assume others here produce product or think of their work in that way perhaps you and they are in the wrong place, and are the one's who need a reality check about what gear is actually necessary to them and not just something they desire.

p.s. the scarlet does have far better designed ergonomics based around cinema(motion picture) shooting compared to DSLR's no matter how you look at it, as well as the ability to build on to it to make it more so, or break it down so it's like a DSLR, flexibility and choices they are wonderful things.
