Hey Guys,

I have recently purchased a Mobile Red Rocket card from Maxx Digital, it came to me pre-assembled (rocket card installed) and I went to use it with my 2007-2008 generation Macbook Pro with express port and as I launched REDCINE-X I got this message "RedRocket #0 is in a 1x PCI-Ex Lane. The RedRocket requires an 8x lane to perform properly.".

So I am left with this question, is this computer simply too slow and old or is there a setting that I can use to make the card work on this thing. The model of computer is a 17 inch MBP with 4GB of RAM and the built in Express Port, it is the last all silver one the made before they switched to the newer unibody style.

Any help is appreciated. I have sent an email to Maxx Digital and I am waiting for a response, just wanted to see if anyone on here had some more info.

Thanks,

Charlie

Please ignore this, Maxx Digital got back to me and helped me figure it out. That message is just to let you know that the computer recognizes the card and that it doesn't have the potential to do what the card could do if it was installed on a Mac Pro Tower.

As Epic is not providing the playback function, when the clients want to see the full quality playback on site, Mobile Rocket could provide the function on the SDI output. I'm having bit of a problem with current built of RR and RCX with Epic footage right now and investigating the work around.
