  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Ok, trying to Premiere again, miss some editing tools and short cuts, if they exist, could someone help me.

01 - Shortcut to move clips between tracks ?
02 - Shortcut to move the clip ( in the timeline ) to the CTI ?
03 - Shortcut to select tracks ?
04 - Shortcut to remove all gaps ?
05 - Shortcut to apply transitions in all clips in a selected range ?
06 - Shortcut to render all in a range in the time line?

By the way mach frame replace is amazing.

Thanks
Paulo Emílio

Hi Todd, I started my career as an editor in BVE 900 ( Betacam) , then BVE 2000, there came the NLEs, Perception board and Premiere, Media 100 in a powermac 8100 ( 132mhz ) and of course the old and good COSA, and posthumous FCP. After that time editing the only certainty I have is that a good editor has to be fast. With Final Cut dead, Premiere has a great chance to enter the hall of fame. Hint, put as many shortcuts as possible, be quick means shortcuts, is playing the piano. After Effects has great editing shortcuts, pragmatic evaluation tools as "mach frame" are extremely welcome. Good luck for all Adobe team.

Thank you for the open channel.

I agree on all counts.

Please use the feature-request link that I gave, since that is essentially our "voting" system for requests like this.

In Premiere Pro, I'd like to see a customizable keyboard layout like in the attached image. If it already exists, please let me know.

Wow I use to own a Perception card. Cut many projects with that in a Pentium 3 using Premiere Classic ;) Aah the good old days :)

I too used Perceptions - and DPS Reality - and then VideoToasters VT2/VT2/VT4 (had a really nice editor that became SpeedEdit... which, in itself is pretty cool but seems dead now). The Perception board had such nice compression - Discreet Wavelet (?) - I remember it was so much better than Avid's 1995/96 'broadcast' codec... no jaggies on the Perception (!) but it just didn't catch on! I still have one in a box somewhere... might have to dig it out now :w00t:

I remember how cool non-linear was back in the early days... sooooo much better than BVE controllers and on-line suites (and the pain of off-line!)... although I do miss the feel of jog/shuttle controlers and the pre-roll noise of BetaSp (etc) when edits where previewed... ahh, sounds the kids nowadays would probably laugh at!

Showing my age... damn.

I agree with this feature request because we do not have anything like this in Premiere Pro. Please make one here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish

I still have my perception card. Used to use it with Speed Razor. That editor had some good features I've not seen emulated since like spanning a transition between tracks with clips that are not next to each other. ah... the good old days.
