  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Batteries4Broadcast - RED Compatible V-Mount 150Wh batteries

i have their AB mount 150s, not red but they work great and the customer service i received was top notch

I have a bunch of them and they work fairly well. I wouldn't bother with the charger though, as with less than three year's usage it's breaking pretty badly. I suggest just buying batteries from them and getting a good IDX charger.

I've used the Gold Mount versions of these batteries for 2 1/2 years with my RED One. They have worked great. I have a quad and a dual charger and they been bulletproof. Never had an issue. The 150w Batts take some time to charge (hence the two chargers) but work well, even under the high amperage draw of the M-X, a drive and accessories. They are a bit on the heavy side, as you would expect. BTW Run time on an Epic is fantastic. I shot high speed for six hours yesterday on two batteries.

I have a V mount set up from them, 4 gang charger and 4 90wh bats and it works great.

I had the charger malfunction and they replaced it quickly under warranty.

I only wish I had ordered my set up in Anton Bauer type mount, because I think it is far more robust than the Sony V mount.

Go for the 90wh bats and make up a dual mount for the back of your RED so that you can hot swap, and also so that you don't have to worry so much about Li Ion restrictions when you fly with the larger batteries. I can charge 4 of the 90wh bats in about 2.5 hours. I have 6 all together. They hold a charge for weeks. I get about 2 hours or so of run time with the two 90wh bats on my R1.

Good to know.

What are the current restrictions on something like a RED Brick or one of these 150w batteries and flying? I commonly fly with 4-8 panny/dvxuser batteries in my case without issues.

Ah...nevermind

Carry on all Lithium batteries

90Wh batteries are in the “any number of spare batteries” category.

Larger than 90Wh batteries are limited to only 2 per person, as they have always been.
