Has anyone had success shutter-syncing or genlock-syncing two EPIC-Ms for framerates higher than 72fps? When doing GENLOCK sync (from a Gen10 or Ambient modified for 3D) I know 72fps is the max (from the manual) but is there hardware available for a more precise timing so that higher framerates can be synced? I'm on a shoot and we have prep for the next two days and we are currently troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Just to report back - 168fps genlock tri-level sync works. 192 does not so I suppose 168fps might be the threshold.

shot 300 fps in russia on a test a couple of weeks ago and the vtr guy was able to sync for playback, from transcoded 1920 x 1080 prores files. on a 3Ality system...

72fps is the limit for 5k 2:1 and 5k FF modes.
2k 2.4:1 is 168

If you go above those rates you risk dropping frames if your shutter sync is set to genlock.

Higher rates for syncing coming in the next major build or the one after.

That is quite surprising. Did he actually check to see if there was a shutter sync or even sync at all? We were able to shoot 300 fps with the GENLOCK and SYNC still green but when scrutinized the two cameras had an unacceptable amount of discrepancies with sync. It is not surprising that 300fps did not work as it is not a multiple of 24. Perhaps with a 30fps timebase?
