Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone has heard much about the EF mount for the EPIC.. I saw pictures of it, then nada.. I have a feature coming up in Septemeber and was wondering if RED doesn't pump it out if there might be someone else that has something that will work with the full frame lenses.. I would rather keep my EF mounts on my Compact Primes so I can interchange them with my 5D..

Thanks!

I think they will be available in september. But I am sure it will be out of stock in minutes in the RED Store.

Right now the only good high speed glass available for PL are the master primes (new ones have a lead times of 2months and USD 25k a lens) if you need any thing more open than T1.8 which Red Pro Primes are sufficiently affordable and gorgeous with results.

I too want to start a project that would require faster lens. Just waiting on the announcement, with my eyes on the RED Store.

The RED EF ELECTRONIC CANON mount is something that will change many minds about the use of Still glass and the use of AutoFocus.

RED will redefine once again both... ;)

Ketch, first of all pleasure to meet you.. I have been reading a lot of your posts and you are a wealth of information! Second, the ability to use autofocus will change many things for a lot of us.. It will be a different look overall.. I wonder if there will ever be a repeatable focus, where you can set it to 4' and press a button and it will automatically rack to your other mark at infinity.. Ohh the joy of speculation..

@Asif.. I'm sure the RPPs are awesome.. I own a set of primes already.. The problem is not the glass, it's the compatibility of the application I would like to use it.. (both 5D/Epic) also I rent my CP2s out 99.9% of the time to 5/7d users.. I'd hate to loose that market..

A pleasure like wise Justin,

rest assure that the RED's version of the EF Canon mount, wil change lots of pro's minds, because of what they can do, and I have only had a short preview at RED STUDIOS with Jim and Joseph, as Jarred was swinging it away,
tone of options, with the Touch screen, so I can't wait to get one our self here i Italy to start testing and shooting some great High Fashion in Siena, Rome, Florence, Milan, and of course Sardinia, my Island of Birth... ;)

Very cool Ketch. I love the video with the amazing woman on your website! Wow, great shots and what a hottie! What lenses were you using that gave you that bluish flare when she is looking in the mirror? Looked very much like an anamorphic flare, but didn't seem to match the rest of your footage?

I watch this crazy tv show called Bizare Foods with Andrew Zimmern, and he traveled to Sardinia, looks like an amazing place!! I would love to travel there just to eat!! Hahahah.. If I wasnt in the film business I would be a chef.. I love fine food!!

I'm also waiting for canon ef mount. Lot of us are waiting for and as Ketch wrote it, i'm sure that's going to Change a lots of Minds. The point & touch focus system is a ver y good idea

Ketch, do you know if you can adjust iris and focus from the Redmote with the Canon mount - seems like the Redmote screen has spots for the data but it isn't clear if we can use the wheel or other buttons to adjust - but it would sure be ice if it were possible.
